we are more talented than i thought we would be on offense and nowhere near as good as i thought we would be on defense. i really didn't expect special teams to suck as much as they have. really no excuse for it. despite losing beason and davis, we shouldn't be this bad on defense. it's been just a bunch of stupid mistakes that have kept us from getting wins.

we could have won every game we played this year.

we should have beaten atlanta. we didn't, although we had the personnel to pull it off. they just found a way to lose. two dumb PI calls really screwed us over. ATL got lucky on the first two INTs. the third one didn't matter. we should have gone into ATL and beat that team. it pissed me off the way that we lost it. it was just dumb mistakes that have become characteristic of the team this year.

i know it will get better and i feel good about the direction we are going and the coaching staff despite the record right now. coaching does need to get better, but the bigger issue is players stepping it up and making less costly mistakes. we are literally a couple plays away from winning every game. it's just getting old. they raised my expectations for this team not just in the future, but for this year.

i know what we are capable of, but we aren't realizing it. i won't apologize for being pissed at that. they need to get that crap tightened up.

historically to this point we are doing better than them yes, and you're statement about pre 1970 is absurd. there was a lot of great football played before the merger by some of the greatest players ever. The biggest reason the steelers can be used as an example though is that the Rooney's have always owned them. They didn't just stumble into SB wins. It took them a very long time to build what they have.

By your logic the Arizona Cardinals are one of the best franchises ever. :rolleyes:

I would suggest if you do not wish to hear opinions about the Panthers, you should not visit Panthers message boards.

Saying the Panthers are losers is a fact. We are 1-5, the reigning worst team in the NFL, & sit 21 games under .500 all-time.

Having Cam Newton & a bright future doesn't erase a losing mentality.

The people complaining constantly are curmudgeons who live miserable lives.

I've just came to terms with the fact that this franchise has a losing mentality & has a lot of work to do to change that.

Everybody is talking Cam Newton & winning Super Bowls, I just want this team to win games. Become winners year in & year out, the Championships will follow.
