And if you think that people tempering unrealistic expectations with reason is a sign they are fine with losing, then you really don't have a clue. No one is happy we are losing, they simply are aware that building a winning team through the draft is a process. I would think that people who were around in the late nineties when we were first around, remember what we like when we tried to buy a championship with free agents. It worked in 1995 and 1996 and then everything came crashing down culminating in the 1-15 season in 2001.

We have decided on the course which is build through the draft, sign your core players and supplement where you can without giving up too much. We have done that and are sailing along for better or worse. If you don't like the journey or the destination then disembark anytime.

But mistaking football understanding for being fine with losing is beyond ridiculous.

The stats do not support this. We rank 17th in the nfl in rushing attempts. That's middle of the pack. Middle of the pack despite being behind in the 4th qtr in most games. So we are running the ball at about the league average. Not running it enough is not the problem.

Sometimes I do have a problem with when they choose to run, and when they don't, but overall its a good mix of pass and run in today's pass happy NFL.

i'm not surprised we have a bad record, no one else should be either-- i'm surprised that we have a bad record despite the team actually being decent. that makes me optimistic though it obv sucks that we aren't doing well. at least now we'll have a nice pick to help speed up the rebuilding process

edit: also, a bad defense, esp a bad run defense, and a rookie qb is a recipe for losing close games

offensively, we need to shore up things in the red zone; as cam has truly struggled in the 10-19 yard range. that would make this offense phenomenal, as we have moved the ball extremely well in other areas and have been good right around the goal line area
