My B. Hit me up on twitter yo.

Bengals D is getting helped out by the O big time though.

Not sure why the Bengals are in this thread, this is about two young franchises moving on up in the league, the 49ers and the Panthers, with different philosophies, from the head coaching hires and down.

No team plays the same week to week.....

Sure there is more tape on the offense......no one is really slowing it down. Samething every week......we can move the ball on anyone in the NFL. Problem is in the redzone.....and that is a Panther issue not a team figured us out issue.

And no, I don't see our D stopping them or lesser teams.....but opponents can't stop our offense either. that is why no one will cream us.....teams have to actually prove they can stop the offense before you start talking about us getting creamed.

We are in the bottom half of the league, people stopping us isn't really an issue at this point.

San Fran has a D and Carolina doesn't......and that isn't so much a coaching thing as it is a talent thing. not much more to say about it....that is the biggest difference in records

Bottom half bc we have bad d and st

Offense ain't perfect yet....but it is the only thing that scares opponents and worries them

Just being clear, all the people in this thread believe the way to win games is on defense?

I'm not saying it, I'm just trying to summarize.

gotta be able to stop the run and run the ball.

it may be a passing league but there are times when you need to run the ball imo. We're finally getting the point where we can run the ball, but we can't stop the run at all.

Bottom half bc we have bad d and st

while it's all related, it's not like our offense is scoring tons of points, we're in the bottom half in points scored I believe.

In scoring points...

Look at yards and redzone appearances......

Rookie QB and an OC trying figure out his scheme and this QB....takes time. But the yardage and redzone appearances shows this O can be very dangerous......it is a process though.

since you asked

DC Vic Fangio, WR Braylon Edwards, C Jonathan Goodwin, ILB Larry Grant, FS Madieu Williams, SS Donte Whitner, K David Akers, DE/OLB Aldon Smith, QB Colin Kaepernick, S/CB Chris Culliver, RB Kendall Hunter

A D coordinator and a host of defensive players mentioned...

Just look at their defense.

...

well, what didn't happen is they didn't lose Patrick Willis, there 2nd best defensive player and a starting DL......for starters.

you know, that small stuff makes a difference.

...

He would have clogged the middle. That was his job at his old team and he did a pretty good job of it, stats don't show for most NT's. He wouldn't have been on roller skates like Fua, which would have stopped the opposing lines from getting into our linebackers and defensive backs. It could have potentially made a rather large difference.

...

What makes them who they are is that they stop the run, and they run effectively

We can't stop the run AT ALL and we're throwing like Cam is a 4 year vet

...

their defense hasn't suffered catastrophic injuries

...

San Fran has a D and Carolina doesn't......and that isn't so much a coaching thing as it is a talent thing. not much more to say about it....that is the biggest difference in records

...

Okay...back to reality though.

Right now, we aren't hard to stop. We can't score points but damnit our fantasy owners will love the Panthers.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
