David Garrard won't be playing for anyone this season

Take one name out of search for QB, David Garrard just called me and told me he needs immediate surgery on herniated disc in his back.

Garrard has been in a ton of pain for from training camp injury and MRI showed herniation of L4-L5. Says he wanted to be upfront w OAK

Its just kind of out of the blue. It seems like he could have mentioned this earlier in the season.

I would suspect that this means Garrard's career is over.

Apparently he thought he could rehab through it, but it only got worse.

I wonder if it's different for him since it's l4/l5. He said the pain had starting shooting into his calf after rehabbing it and that the only time he wasn't in pain was when he was lying down.
