And why are we using the Steelers roster as the blueprint? How about some other teams successfully running a 3-4. GB? NYJ? Dallas? Hou?

I just selected them. lol

GB's outside LB's are both around 255, inside guys are 240.

Dallas - Outside guys are both around 260, inside guys are 245.

NYJ - all of there LB's are 250+ except for Scott who's around 240.

They've ran it in practice all year long and used it on 3 downs Sunday. They have quite a few 3-4 plays in the defensive playbook.

I know. But if you think what McD said has any substance of us maybe switching to it in the future then it changes everything. Including this years draft/FA.

One of the quickest DE's in the league over 10 -20 yards running 1.53 in 10 and 2.74 in 20. He's got great strength, above average agility and the pass rushing move list to be effective as 3-4 OLB.

So lets see quick, strong, agile and has the pass rushing moves to be successful. He's just plain explosive now.

So he is quick as a DE. Once again how does that qualify him for OLB. Tell me about his ability to pass defend in the zone. Tell me about his ability to cover tight ends or running backs who are usually faster than 4.75 in the forty. Tell me about his ability to backpedal and how fluid his hips are.

Nothing you have mentioned have much to do with OLB. Has he ever played OLB?? Most all the draft reports when he came out had him as an edge rusher or a 4-3 DE, very little consideration was given to him as an OLB.

His movement and speed are similar to both Williams and Ware. We've already started dropping him into zone coverage. His 10-20 yard speed is pretty damn good. As fast as Ware and Williams. His speed is comparable to other 3-4 OLB's, high 4.6 to mid/high 4.7's.

What about Ware or Williams coverage skills??? How about Pace now that he's older?? What about Woodley?

Teams that have those big, strong OLB's like Ware and Williams scheme around it.

I still think we should stick to a 4-3. Once we get everyone back next year the defense won't look nearly as bad.

DE- Johnson Hardy

DT- Edwards, FA/Draft

LB- Anderson, Beason, Davis/FA/Draft

CB- Gamble, Draft

S- Godfrey, Martin

Really not so bad. Edwards and another big body in the middle will make a world of difference.
