Chris Harris

Bears SS Chris Harris will formally request a trade Monday.

Coach Lovie Smith claimed Harris was inactive last night because he doesn't play special teams, but no one is buying that. Harris was humiliated by the Lions in Week 5 and has lost his job to Chris Conte. Although the Bears won't receive anything of value on the trade market for Harris, they may be inclined to simply rid themselves of a potential distraction. He's a free agent at the end of this season anyway.

We could probably get him back for close to nothing. He would add some vet leadership to the team, especially to a secondary that does not seem to have very good leaders. We could keep him as a third safety. Plus it seems like guys are getting hurt every week back there.

I'm going to assume he wants to be traded to start somewhere. Which I don't think he would here.
PT > being inactive.

not sure he's going to expecting to start. just getting no the field would be better than not getting a jersey.

after what we saw from backups @ safety i'm sure he wouldn't be worse.

    • No one is asking him to be Tom Brady. They're just asking him to be as good if not better than Cooper Rush, Jimmy Garoppolo and Carson Wentz. We'd like Young to be better than Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield, but we're not even asking for that. No matter how you cut it he's going to be considered a bust for what was given up for him. He should be outpacing Cam Newton, Jake Delhomme and Kerry Collins game for game in their careers. He should at least be challenging the clutch level of Brady, Mahomes, Stafford, Goff, Garoppolo, Burrow, Hurts and Purdy. Remember that's based on the draft capital given up for Young, and not the extremely low bar Young has actually set for himself.
    • Even if you cherry pick Bryce post benching and ignore everything else and project it out over a full season….. there is no statistical  argument Kyler has ever been worse.   I’m no Murray fan as I agree he is more athlete than QB.   And I’m open to Bryce improving and support us continuing to develop him as this point.
    • We need LBs--build the roster from the bottom up.  On offense, we have Coker who has been huge...if you fill your weaknesse without having to use free agent $$$ or draft picks--win win.
