my father's family moved from Conway to High Point when he was still a toddler due to his older brother dying of leukemia. I have a lot of extended family still there, and have spent a large amount of time in SC. Both North and South have pros and cons, and I'd be happy to live in certain areas of either.

I don't get the hate on SC, despite being a native of NC I've always loved the place. I wish they would just make it one state again.

Oh GOD no, the two states are very different. I'd say the state of NC is much more closely related to VA than it is to SC at this point.

I grew up in Wilmington, NC.

Wilmington is nice and all (I grew up there too but now reside outside of ILM), but the traffic is freaking terrible.

The lower gas prices and cheaper taxes are great.

Does that have anything to do with the sheisty condition of the roads? I-95 South sucks pure asswater. When I went to Sparty for TC, I saw more than one closed up Welcome Center...boarded all up like a ghost town. I noticed that SC doesn't cut the grass in the median or on the sides of the highways either. What's up with that? Looks like s#!te, IMHO.
