Do people expect a defense to be good

When the offense turns the ball over 3 times?

1. The Defense didn't have to respond to the first turnover at the end of the first half yesterday.

2. The game was already out of hand by the time the 2nd turnover occurred thanks to the defense not being able to stop Matt Ryan from getting two yards despite hitting him 2 yards away from the first down marker or from getting a 3rd and 12 on a horizontal pass all the way across the field.

3. The game was already over when the 3rd interception occurred.

4. The Defense sucked every game and the offense didn't turn the ball over 3 times every game.

5. Look at more than just numbers from now on.

The inability of a defense to make stops when they need one hurts offensive momentum as much as turnovers put defenses in a bad situation. Only one of Carolina's turnovers did that to the Defense yesterday, but the whole game (including the Panthers' offense) turned on how sorry Carolina's defense was yesterday.

what also hurt was on 3rd down you get 2 PI (on the 1 yard line) on 2 different series.

They CAN'T tackle...

...but at least they made up for it by not getting off of their blocks and by getting huge interference penalties

not to give the DL a pass but at times their are wide open lanes for the LB's to make plays but just are not making tackles.

Our poor defensive play had nothing to do with the turnovers. Two of the three INT's came with 6 mins or less left in the game.

As I pointed out in the other thread... McClain, Fua, Fields and Kearse combined for 2 tackles all game yesterday... two.
