Imagine if our offense scored touchdowns in the red zone and didn't kill drives with penalties all the time. What would our record be?

Hey, I'm Kennypowers30 and I think an offense with a rookie QB and new offensive scheme should be on par with the best offense's in the NFL their first year regardless of how poo it was the year before.

Imagine if our defense was worth a damn. An offense shouldn't have to score 30+ points every single week to have a chance at winning. That's just unrealistic in the NFL against NFL defenses. Is there blame on both sides....of course, but the defense has been much worse then the offense this season. The only reason we are competitive in games is because of Cam and the offense....

I know I will change my post. Point still stands the offense is coming up short often.

I know our defense is absolutely horrible but our offense needs to step up. Most of it falls on the coaching. This post was by no means a slight to Cam.

How can you say our offense needs to step up? Should we expect this team with a rookie QB to do more on offense than they have been doing? There have been questionable play calls this season, but the offense has executed pretty well considering what this unit produced last season.

We've lost some studs on defense and our interior line is weak - it may not entirely be their fault personally, but the defense or ST has been our weak link in every game.

Nobody said they didn't deserve blame. What we're saying is it's stupid to make threads about the offense being the defenses problem when it's the defense being the defenses problem....whether that is personnel, scheme or a combination of both is debatable. But what isn't debatable is that the defense has been atrocious and our offense has been pretty damn decent for having a rookie QB at the helm....

When the offense turns the ball over 3 times?

Talk all the sh*t you want about our defense, but we're not going to hold every team to 14 points. The defense put us in a great position to win late in the 3rd quarter when they forced a Falcons punt while up 17-14. We then put up one of the worst offensive series all game, punted them the ball and put them in great field position(on the CAR 49). The defense then forced a FG which tied the game, and our offense once again goes stale. That essentially ended the game.

Our interior line is poo. Our linebackers are poo. Our secondary is questionable(putting it nicely) at best. That doesn't excuse the offense for consistently coming up short in big situations.

In reality, in terms of how it effected our defense we had one turnover. The other two were at the end of each respective half so i am not sure how it effected our defensive performance.

Short fields happen during the course of a game and at some point our defense has to take some pride and lift up our offense when those situations occur.

Any way you slice it, besides the Jaguars game that featured a rookie debut and a monsoon, our defense hasn't held an opposing team under 28 points. That is not good even with turnovers and short fields.

We need to start getting big stops and when we do have turnovers or give up bad field position keep them to field goals. That is what good defenses do.

we sucked in all phases today, but you aren't going to win many games when teams can consistently run the ball down your throat. We simply cannot stop the run, its pitiful... Ryan had what 150 yards today, yet they still put up 31 pts.
