The Walking Dead on AMC

no this will make carl even more detached i'm pretty sure

also, about that walker popping up behind dale, i figured it was laying down in the grass and he never even saw it. we used to play hide and seek in a field like that at night and it was AWESOME until someone ran into something. you couldn't see people 3 feet from you until they jumped up and took off running towards the base

I disagree. I think Carl is resilient like his father.

I think Carl will be more ruthless when he grows up more like Shane. Things will only get worse and family/friends will be lost. He will echo the words best spoken by Metallica...Kill then All. Walkers are a given, just there are so damn many of them. Human survivors though pose a much greater threat...you won't know who to trust, resources will be a premium, and it becomes survival of the fittest.

I just realized that Lori = the same actress who played Sara in Prison Break. Which is weird because I thought she was sexy as hell in that, and I'm not attracted to her very much at all in this.

The show does a good job at making people look believable. I’ve seen Zombie movies where in the middle of the apocalypse every woman looks like she just came from a maxim shoot. Yeah it looks good on screen but it’s not realistic. lol

i thought the exact same thing. i also thought he was a tolerable actress in prison break, in the walking dead she is most definitely not.

imo they need to focus on the action, suspense and atmosphere because they characters/character development is laughable (+ a severe lack of acting talent). all of the characters are just so far out there that they're impossible to relate to. the writers did a TERRIBLE job of representing how they think people would act in a situation that is completely foreign to everyone.

i feel as if the only reason i'm watching the show is because i like zombies.

EDIT: all three of these posts were supposed to be one but apparently i'm retarded

So I just got completely caught up to speed on the entire 2nd season so far. Can I just say that there are some fuged up personalities on this show? Jesus. If I were in that group, I'd fuging tie myself to a tree and hope one of those things got me.

All that said, I love this show. Holy poo. So damn good.

See, I disagree (with the latter part). You're right, more action (more like the first episode of season 1) would be awesome. The first episode gets you hooked, and then it slows down. The show is more about how life would be in the situation than the situation itself, hence why you have love triangles, friends bucking heads, budding love, etc. I am into sociology and psychology, so I love it.

That being said, SOME of the acting is "meh" at best. Rick seems forced a lot. Shane is pretty good as an actor. The kids are...well, kid actors. They're not supposed to be great.

Overall, it's got everything, it just needs more balance. Too many useless scenes that don't add to story or character development that could easily be replaced by some sort of action/drama. I think the characters have developed well by now, but they need something to freshen it up. Next episode is looking to be pretty good, so we'll see.

you guys know the actor that plays rick is british right

and a lot of the useless scenes left with darabont

i think the dialogue is what kills the acting a lot of the time. i don't have a problem with any of the actors, even the kid actors

its when dale goes around hamfistedly hammering the same point home throughout the episode like he's goddamn patrick henry that i get annoyed

and it will happen again with other characters probably. the comics were rough at first, and hopefully the show falls in line in the same fashion

even then, it only pales when compared to truly great shows, and blows any drama on network tv away

y

I really like the cast. They made good moves from top to bottom in regards to the actors.

And yes, Andrew Lincoln is a brit. So is the guy who played Morgan in the first season, and Lauren Cohen (Maggie) is American but grew up in England.

I read online that Kirkman told Lincoln to never speak in his native accent when they are taking a break on set. Sort of a method acting tool I guess but if you ever here Lincoln speak when he isn't Rick, he sounds like a pussy.

British actors are usually great hires for TV drama in the states.

Idris Elba, aka Stringer Bell from The Wire, is from England and that guy now is on the verge of becoming a superstar.

I don't get your hate for Darabont either.
