Have you watched it? If you have, then it just must not be your cup of tea.

Personally, I like it because of the post-apocalyptic atmosphere that has caused the moral fabric of humanity dissapear.

The reason the show is good is because of the struggles that the people go through in order to keep all of the good things about humanity intact, even if it isnt the easy thing to do.

I only watched like 5 min of the first episode. I know that isn't giving it much of a chance but Ive just never gotten the whole zombie thing.

my wife stopped watching as soon as Rick shot the zombie 2 minutes in.

Eventually she saw enough of me watching it to become intrigued and now she's hooked.

Zombies are the perfect antagonist in a story because they really can mean what you want them to mean, and be what you want them to be. They are not human but generate a human response. Every time one gets popped in the head, its different from blasting an alien or shark or whatever. It looks human, and pathetic, and scary, all at the same time. People you love can be them and you have to deal with it.

go back and watch the rest of the episode.

Admittedly, most of the first few episodes is blasting zombies, but that by far is not the plot of the show. It is more about the characters, and the struggles that they go through in order to survive.

It isnt anything like most of the 'zombie movies' out there. I would even go as far as to say that zombies are not even the main plot. It is more about the struggle.

I'll give it another shot then. If I still hate it I'll hunt you down and beat you senseless.:D

lets just say that carl learned a lesson that is integral to his character in a much better fashion than he did in the source material and dale was a noble sacrifice

plus the actor is a darabont nuthugger

i liked dale, but his dialogue in this episode was over the top and getting annoying. guess they wanted to really fist his philosophy up in there to hammer the twist home. a little hamfisted, but not the worst thing on television
