The Walking Dead on AMC

i'm glad they kept shane but to say that the show would be crap without him is naive

he's just as expendable as anyone else, and everyone is expendable

That's why I didn't say it would be. Said it could've been. Obviously they would've developed other characters instead of Shane had he been killed off; but does anybody think spending time developing Lori for instance would make the show better? No. That's why Shane has been key in the "lull" of the 2nd season.

The fact that you believe he is a douche actually proves that he is a very good actor. In real life the guy couldn't be any nicer in interviews.

I like Shane because it gives the show a feeling of the enemy is everywhere, even among you. He is the only character right now keeping it from being a "the enemy is OUT THERE" stereotype. They need him right now. Otherwise the story would go, "and then they lived happily ever after at the farm."

Once a threat bigger than Shane comes along, they won't need him anymore. I think that's where things are headed.

i think the actor playing shane is doing a fantastic job. reminds me of when people hated doakes on dexter and called him a shitty actor simply because they were so good at making people hate the character

i miss doakes :(

It seems like in other discussion circles Lori is getting a lot of hate. I can understand it but in the end I think she just lacks the metal toughness of the rest of the group. She's blaming everything that happened between her and Shane on Shane as a way of clearing herself of any guilt.

The only problem I have with Shane is that he's taking the opposite side of Rick no matter what happens and his opposition usually isn't logical. Saving the guy from town and bringing him to the farm was most likely the right thing to do but Shane seems to dig in at any negative aspect to Rick's decisions.

Great show though. Season 2 was kind of weak up until the big climax with Sofia, the second half is showing it's much more interesting.

i just thought this episode was so good in how they dug real deep in the dynamics of the relationships with the backdrop of Rick, Herschel and Glen barely making it out alive and oh now we have a visitor.

great contrasting going on.

I agree, and every character is losing faith in humanity in some aspect:

Herschel deserted his family to delve into a selfish alcoholic episode

Glenn is distancing himself from Maggie, who finally feels love again, in order to toughen up in the "new world"

Rick had to kill the living in a world run by the dead, in order to survive

Andrea has wrongfully latched on to Shane as the one person she trusts after her sister died

Shane is taking away everyone's innocence with his brash and selfish antics, while also not helping his own cause

Dale can't believe everyone is blind to Shane's danger to the group, and is becoming more hopeless that things will be handled before it's too late

Daryl feels he failed Sophia, and has lost something emotionally that he might never get back, while Carol watches someone else she cares about slip away again.

All of that mixed with an outsider that tried to kill part of the group, and things are about to implode. This won't end well.... I'm personally excited to see where they take it.

Anyone know where I can get the PDF of the latest Walking Dead comic?

Specifically #93 (and #94 if it is out).

I dont know how to use torrents. Up until this point, I would just google "Walking Dead 93 pdf" and a dozen sites would come up with a link to the pdf.

I would really appreciate a PM if you have a link, pie and Swag!

You know Shane wants to choke the poo out of Mr. Moral Authority. Dale's overtly-annoying tattle tale ways are getting old. Could it be that this show is actually putting me on the side of the ones who put pure survival and strength first and to hell with the humanitarian aspect??

If so, that's awesome. Rick's "let's save everyone" attitude is getting more ridiculous each week, even though I realize his perspective is different from the ones in the group without a family to protect; that must be why Hershel has taken to him.

In memory of Otis....
