This is the thing here. The police have a job to do, when someone is injured they will press charges against the person who caused the injury especially if that person isn't likewise injured, REGARDLESS of the evidence at the time of self defense. It is then up to the court system to prove that he is guilty and if they have a strong case they will be let go.

This has happened to me, I got attacked by two punks on the ski slopes a few years back. ( I was a ski and snowboard instructor for 12 years). One kid had 5,000 in medical bills, he had to have his teeth reset and have CAT scans and whatnot. Point is, they attacked me first but I won the fight against two people. I turned myself in on "Assault Inflicting Serious Injury" and "Simple Assault" charges. I won the case in court. The reason this guy is getting an initial felony charge is because he used a weapon. I just beat the poo out of those kids with my fists.

More than likely his charges will be reduced to a misdemeanor level, but due to the severity of the injuries inflicted and his continued beating beyond the point of necessity, he won't be let off completely.

The poll needs a 3rd option "Didn't do anything wrong till he hit them when they were on the ground" option.

Look, women want equal rights, so when they want to act like men and jump across a counter and surround someone, they should get treated as such. The discussion would be completely different right now if 2 guys were coming after him. I don't see an issue with someone getting a weapon to even the score, but once they are on the ground, that should be it. Like someone said, they could have a knife or anything, and it doesn't take the strength of a man to stab someone (or pull a trigger).

You shouldn't have been so tough on 10 year olds. :D

That girl could of had a gun or a knife and she went after him...self defense.that one girl looked like a man so if you jump a counter be prepared for an ass kicking

that's why hitting her is a sketchy circumstance, hitting her once she is down and clearly no longer a threat????

I think you guys are making too much of the cashier hitting the women while they were down. If you watch closely you can see one woman trying to stand back up. Also we don't know if they're biting, scratching or kicking his leg. Even if you ignore all that, he only hits them a few times after being down. The beat down was short.

I also was annoyed by the woman screaming and other pedestrians getting excited. Where were they when the woman was berating the cashier and slapping him? People in society sit by and watch that happen but God forbid this guy stand up for himself.

You see the same thing with cops a lot. Sure there are plenty of bad cops who are eerily similar to the Gestapo (especially the losers on the NYPD), but many videos I support the cops using force. If you want to act like a moron and put yourself at risk, don't be surprised when you get what's coming.

The guy was in jail before this for 10 or so years for manslaughter. The guy's a nut. And those women didn't deserve the beating they got. One of them received a fractured skull, and broken arm.

Also, I think it's rather crazy some of you think the guy did nothing wrong.

People have no morals I guess..

Dude was being chill. Bitch reached across the counter and smacked him, he swung back. Then, he went to the back. They followed, they got beat down. Once they cross the counter, you don't know what they have or what they'll do. He was defending himself. He blacked out, kept swinging. It looks like he was yelling at them to stay down, because he only kept hitting them when they were getting up.

Did he do a bit much? Yeah. Did they deserve that beating? Absolutely. Talk shiit, get hit.
