Seriously bro, how many threads are you and Happy Panther going to make today. Go be a fan of a team that isn't rebuilding if you want to win now. Ron Rivera has already stated they were going to go all out on passing this season to make sure we establish our identity as an explosive team whilst we rebuild (the same thing Norv Turner did with Philip Rivers his rookie season) instead of doing it 3 years down the road when we have a veteran team (why the Falcon's suck so bad this year is because they lost their identity trying to become explosive and the only reason they were so good on offense this game is because our run defense sucks and Julio Jones was out so they relied on their old gameplan.)

When the Panther's lose Proudiddy turns into Chkwing and Fugginpoo

I wouldn't go that far. There's a line between trolling and concern, I'm on the concerned side and will not cross that line.

Didn't Ron Rivera say he's modeling their plan with Cam off of what Norv Turner did with Phillip Rivers in SD i.e., a lot of pass attempts early on? I don't get why this question keeps being raised when an answer has been given.

I've heard posters referring to this, but I didn't see/hear it myself, so if that's what was said I get the strategy behind it, but he still had thrown plenty by the time we took the lead... We should have some power runs set up to preserve leads as well. That's my complaint.

And I'm not saying we shouldn't be passing this much, I'm saying there should be more balance so that we can sustain leads/build on them.

I love our passing game, but Chud's playcalling is hurting Cam at times because of the lack of run threat/balance.

It's a valid complaint that's going to get drowned out in "RIVERAS MY GUY" crap.

If we're putting the offense entirely on our rookie QB as some kind of development tactic, then at least be honest that you're not really going for wins and spare everyone some time and disappointment.

If it's not an intentional/developmental thing for Cam then our playcalling is borderline retarded.

Because this is FOOTBALL, 'not' training camp. It is all about wins. If you disagree then have fun with your moral victories, but losing pisses me off!

19 carries between Deangelo and Stew versus 35 pass attempts by Cam today.

This has been discussed before, but this is becoming a troubling trend and part of the reason we can't close games.

Our last nine plays were passes (one of those was a Cam scramble), primarily because we were down late by two scores. So up until that point, we had a mixture of 27 passes by Cam, 19 runs by rb's, and 3 or Cam runs. That is a decent mix for today's NFL.

The big problems were the penalties and poor execution early in the 4th qtr that put us in the hole and forced us into some bad situations. Well that and the two interceptions. That second interception was a real killer. It came right after a long run by Williams, and I think Williams had some running room had Cam got it over the dlineman. We would have been in good shape for a score I think.

My problem is we should've started utilizing the run more as soon as we got the lead. Mix in the pass at that point, but make them respect the run first.

If we would've started doing that at the point when we took the lead back, then stopped them on D and got the ball back (as we did), I think we would've still ended up with 35 passes eventually... But, would've had more runs because the drives would've been sustained if they were successful.

But, f*ck it, if Rivera said he's doing it for a specific reason than what can we do about it?

That's just not the way things are done in today's pass happy NFL. Not by most teams anyway. Even the Steelers pass more than they run now.

Fwiw, we are right in the middle of the NFL regarding total rushing attempts so its not like we have abandoned the run.

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
