Really explain to me all this talent? Lets see Gore and Davis on O, and thats about it on O. Crabtree and Morgan (there leading WR's) have a grand total of 1 TD's and only 400 yards combined all season and there QB is Alex Fuggin Smith. On D Willis and Rogers. If anything we have better talent.

Ever heard of Patrick Willis and Justin Smith?

The margin between winning and losing is very thin... a few playmakers can make all the difference.

If you weren't a panther fan, who could you name on our defense? CJ and Gamble......that's about it. Their Defense is infinitely more experienced than ours, and its generally more talented due to our horrible injury bug to our defense. How many 1st and 2nd year players are starting on our defense? How many 4th and 5th string scrubs are starting because of injuries? Yeah that's what I thought.

I love all the homerism on this board. If we suck it must be because we have less talent then everyone else. This is the NFL good teams can make do after injuries. Besides our D look pretty bad even with Beason and TD in.

LOL, how long exactly did Beason and TD get to play together?

Who's fault is that exactly? There is this thing called Free Agency where you can bring in Vets. We signed a single DT who wasn't exactly a world beater and Gaither.

That's not homerism, it's the reality of the situation. How good is the Patriots defense? Dead fuging last in the NFL before this past week. You would consider them a "good team" right? The fact of the matter is, we are talent poor on defense, and very young. Our offense would have to be damn near perfect every week to pull out wins, especially against the teams we have played so far. The only team that we could afford to not be perfect against, we won in a fuging monsoon. We have a rookie QB and a rookie HC on the offensive side of the ball and a defense that would get run over by the Devry intramural squad, it's not a recipe for success against quality teams. Our offense has kept us in games and that's a fuging miracle.

Last time I checked, Rivera wasn't GM. Secondly, I'm glad that you are a fuging psychic, but I'm pretty sure that no one else is in our FO that could have foreseen the injuries that we've had.

The Difference between us and the Pats is there winning. They are horrible on D but still find a way to win. Thats good coaching. And thats what this thread is about whos the better coach. RR, McD, or Chud or who ever is playcalling have been fuggin crap up all season.

They win because they are more experienced on O. Brady makes less mistakes than Cam at this point in their careers. You're really going to downplay the factor that one of the best QB's of all time brings to a team? You can't compare Bellicheat to Rivera either, how long has Billy been a HC?

The Patriots have been winning because their offense makes less mistakes to cover up their poo D, plus they have played weaker teams on average so far this year.

Sure there have been mistakes by the coaching staff, but Harbaugh has made mistakes as well. He's winning, but he's in a lot better situation over there and his schedule has been infinitely easier to this point.

No, we have to take into account that Hurney didn't really focus much on the defense in the offseason other than resigning players, and it's showing, even though everyone in their right mind knew there was very little chance Thomas Davis would make it through the season.

Everyone in their right mind also knew that Captain Munnerlyn and Chris Gamble will bet beaten A LOT MORE than than they'll do anything good.

The defensive woes were to be expected. They sucked on defense last year, because just like last year, they could never get a stop when they needed one. Other teams just didn't need to try to outscore the Panthers, so other teams didn't score a whole lot last season, which made it look like the defense was better than it was.

That's what I take into account.

We fixed the offense because it sucked last year and need to do the same next year on defense. If we are as bad next year compared to this I might blame the FO.

What was the strength of our defense coming into this season?? Linebackers. What do you need to be great to run McDermott's defense?? Linebackers. Where have our injuries hit hardest?? Linebacker.

What else do we need?? Better corner play. Those 2 areas in my mind are actually more important that DT right now.

Case in point: Colts without Manning.

Our D would still be average to below average even without the loss of Beason (TD was an injury waiting to happen). I do agree the CB position could use an upgrade but nowhere near DT. We are not getting penetration or stopping the run up the middle and this has been our Achilles heel for years. Unfortunately I don't see the draft helping us out in this area. Most likely our 1st pick will be the #1 CB and we address DT with a FA pickup and a later pick.
