Harbaugh>Rivera

I think what he means was that its not a team with a bunch of rookies and stop gap players. Saving money last year for the lock out and trading away all our picks the last few years has sunk us into Lions/Bills territory this year. Oh and no I dont mean this years Lions and Bills.

exactly.

thanks. wish i could explain my view points better..off the spot. well said

but yes, it's kinda comparing apples to oranges, really.

rivera seems more intelligent, more well spoken and has more football savvy. haven't seen enough to say who's the better decision maker is, i haven't watched their games, i'm sure the others haven't either.

..lol.."49ers have a much better record thus far, so rivera sucks!!"

he's made some errors, yes...but the panthers have played against some very tough teams. like i said, players play the game. just think many of these fans who put down rivera are really being over zealous, it's annoying.

Oh the Luck and Harbaugh BS rears it's head again. Fact is the 49er's are in a cake division and also healthy. We play in the SOuth and are not healthy. Apples and oranges really. But on a personal preference note Harbaugh is a class a douche. Have seen several occasions of bad sportsmanship. Ron is exactly who we needed. Harbaugh is a former QB who has been pampered and hyped as some kinda genuis. Ron was a LUNCH PAIL type of player and is now a lunch pail type of coach. In the long run Cam and the Panthers are gonna be more successful than Alex Smith and Harbaugh. I see Jim as a Mcdaniels, Mangini, and Pete Carroll type. Too smart for his own good, not well liked by players and flashy. Give me RR anyday.

Talk to me in a couple of years. Several coaches have come into the NFL and won their first year, but relatively few of them managed to keep it going. Several others have come into the league and lost badly their first year, but eventually turned it around.

2 years ago Raheem Morris got more than a shitload of crap about being over his head cause he was 0-6 while over in Denver Josh McDaniels was 6-0

Yep.

Harbaugh is off to a better start than Rivera. That's the only thing that could be said with any confidence at this point.

Long term results are what will tell the tale.

Harbaugh has done well with SF just like Pete Carrol did. The thing they have in common is that you only need about 9 wins to win the West. While the Wins have not come I think Rivera has done well to be playing with the hardest schedule and a very young team. Like I have said before I understand why John Fox was pissed last year because coaching with young players is hard and it takes time to reap the rewards.

Its more then he is just winning he has what was a terrible team playing great football. This is Stanford all over again. He will be a good coach. He is great at finding guys that fit his scheme and the more time that goes on the better the talent will be. The 49ers hit one out of the park with this hiring.

And the whole "they play in the NFC west" argument is BS. There beating teams outside there division. Who cares how weak it is when the best team is kicking the rest of the leagues ass?

BTW I'm not saying RR is a terrible coach (although he is trying his best to convince me of this) but anyone trying to argue that he is as good as Harbaugh is just LOL funny. I hope he ends up with more success then him but so far RR has looked horrible.

Harbaugh has MUCH more talent to work with... esp on the defensive side of the ball.

The 49ers have been a talented team with poor coaching for several years, now they have good coaching.

Really explain to me all this talent? Lets see Gore and Davis on O, and thats about it on O. Crabtree and Morgan (there leading WR's) have a grand total of 1 TD's and only 400 yards combined all season and there QB is Alex Fuggin Smith. On D Willis and Rogers. If anything we have better talent.

Everyone on here BSing over the NFC west being so weak, well in 2010 they won 1 single game against none NFCW teams. That team was the Raiders. This year they have only played 1 NFCW team.

Unfortunately none of us can see the future. Right now he is doing a much better coaching job.
