Is anyone else on the Stephen McGee bandwagon??

I liked his toughness at A&M, although I admittedly watched more of Javorski Lane running people over..

He has a lot of potential though, especially considering where he'll be available in the draft.

:iagree:

Personally, I would love for John Fox to change his philosophy about QBs and look for a true bonafide starter at that position, especially considering Jake's age and contract. With that being said, if were to take a chance on a "raw" QB prospect in this upcoming draft, McGee would be a good pickup. Seems to have the intangibles and leadership skills to make it work. I get the feeling that if he can improve on his mechanics and footwork (thank goodness we FINALLY got a legitimate QB coach) that he may turn out to be something in a year or two. JMO

I didn't watch A&M at all this year, however, I have read in a couple of places that he is a QB that is not getting much attention, but is someone to watch. Apparently Texas A&M did not take advantage of his passing ability, so a lot of people do not know much about him. But from what I have read, he is showing that he has the necessary tools: plenty of arm strength to make all the throws, good accuracy, solid athleticism and escapability, and has done better taking snaps from center than many expected.

Like I said, this is not first hand since I have not seen him myself, but it seems he is making a good impression and may be a quality QB in the NFL with a year or two of development. But the question is, does he have more potrential than Moore?

Another question is, has Moore really showed so much promise that it isn't worth a late round flier on a possible diamond in the rough?

Don't get me wrong, I liked what I saw from Moore in his limited snaps.. but if we can make a low risk pick on an overlooked guy that has all the tools and a proven leader I say go for it..

Worst case scenario is we have our next late round pick practice squad qb
