I don't know.. Rookie Coach.. check.

New Offensive and Defensive Systems... check.

New players undoubtedly brought in.. check.

Played against their fair share of tough teams.. check.

Pretty similar to me.

yeah, though they have an experienced guy under center who has been doing very well with a new coaching staff.

Cam's been fine though, so I don't think it's on him. Ultimately Harbaugh is looking like the better coach, at least right now.

most of the team IS garbage. look at the defense- we have FOUR players who are respectable starters. the rest of them are backup or practice squad quality.

And do you know how we fix it? Through the draft and free agency. No reason to rush out and sign vets when the team isn't going to make the playoffs this year anyways. Add to that Butler, Fua, McClain, and Hogan (when he comes back) are all young. Then add in a new D-cordinator and new defensive scheme and it means yes our d will struggle. Oh and now that we have 2nd and 3rd string LBs playing it means we can't stop the run. Which then opens up the pass.

Trust me, I'm with ya on the whole watching our team lose sucks. But you guys are all over-reacting. We weren't going to be amazing this year and most of us knew it. We have to grit our teeth and watch our team hopefully steadily improve along with the coaching staff each week, then this coming off-season start filling holes that need filled and be ready to tear it up next year.

Ummm young means inexperienced, which we are

Changes nothing about what I just said. Many of these guys on this team have been to the playoffs and Super Bowls.

This isn't a young or experienced team.

Only Cam, Fua, McClain, and the coaches fall into the "young" category, and the coaches should still know better.

We are young and its hard to find a way to win for young teams, even young coaches
I disagree. It's time for fans and the team all alike to stop using the term young and this is a rebuilding year. Despite Cam making some rookies misteaks in this game. Our D once again is the problem and why we lost. Our Offense puts up the points and our D gives up the points. People keep using the excuse young DTs give them time to gel and all. Screw that. Ron and Hurney just refuse to address the problems up front by not going to get Vet DT. Instead they want to rely on 2 rookies who have yet to show signs of progressing after 6 games. If Ron uses the term this is rebuilding year or just a young team then he is just BS like some fans are. I'm sure if Hurney went out and got Harris or Pat Willaims and also Tatupu. Our D might had better chance of holding these good teams we have played so far. But yet again our D costed us the game. Plain and simple.

it was pretty clear that this was a pure rebuilding year based on what happened once the season got started.

Only to fans and the media.

The players want to win every game, and should have won every game because they could have won every game.

That "rebuilding" crap is just an excuse, when you're losing because you are GIVING AWAY GAMES, and because your defense is one of the worst in the history of football.

the front office did not make the moves that just about everyone but the players thought they should make to shore up the defense.

that doesn't mean that the players should quit, but our defense is abysmal. obviously they've been in every game - our offense has been prolific up to this week, at least in yards generated, which has given us a chance. but that doesn't change approach the front office made going into this season.

this week the offense also didn't get it done in the second half, but whatever. can't rely on a rookie QB to carry you and actually win many games. just doesn't work often. you can argue that we're giving away games, but one could also argue we've had some major guys step on offense to keep us in games.

Ok I agree with both you and orcale. But the thing is with any good team. You don't throw 2 rookies DT out there without them proving themselves. See Hurney could of signed Pat Williams which a runstopper right there and then Start Mcclain at the other DT spot to pass rush help. Then sign tatupu and put him at MLB and move Conner over to TD postion. Then you once again have a decent D with help. But again Hurney and Ron and mainly Hurney refuse to address these problems and allowing this team is going down in flames. With a few moves week 1 or 2. Carolina could very easy be 6-0 or 5-1 . No more dam excuses from Hurney or Ron. I'm sure Cam is tired of the excuses aswell. You can see it in his eyes at the end of the game. Time for excuses is over.:toetap05:

Of course people put a lot into every season. By your logic everyone should just watch once every 4 years when we have a decent team. Face it we suck. Other teams have great winning teams year after year. We're not one of those. We were close with Fox, but so far it's not looking as good as it did the first 2 games.....ever since the GB game we have looked worse and worse and so has Cam. Not better and better. At least if we saw some improvement it might be nice, but now the defenses have figured out how to shut our O down.....
