University of Tennessee pro day

Defensive end Robert Ayers has flown up draft boards since the Senior Bowl. He used a strong performance at that college all-star game to make himself potentially a top-15 pick. NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock has him rated as the fifth best overall prospect in this entire class. Lions defensive line coach Bob Karmelowicz, Bengals defensive line coach Jay Hayes and Panthers defensive line coach Brian Baker were all on hand to take a look at the 6-foot-3 3/8, 272-pound Ayers

Pittsburgh's pro day

Pittsburgh RB LeSean McCoy was unable to perform in drills at the NFL Scouting Combine last month due to a lingering illness. With that behind him, he did a full workout at Pittsburgh’s pro day on March 17.

Along with 14 other prospects, He ran indoors on FieldTurf in front of 26 team representatives, including Steelers coach Mike Tomlin and Panthers coach John Fox.

Perhaps most importantly to McCoy, Eagles running backs coach Ted Williams and Jaguars running backs coach Kennedy Pola were on hand.

McCoy (5-10 5/8, 204) put on a decent showing for them, posting a 4.50 and 4.51 in the 40, a 29-inch vertical jump, an 8-foot, 11-inch broad jump, a 4.18 short shuttle, a 6.82 three-cone drill and 17 bench press reps.

Here are the other notable prospects from Pittsburgh Pro Day:

LB Scott McKillop (6-1, 245 pounds) stood on all his combine numbers, but did position drills with Bills linebackers coach Matt Sheldon and Eagles linebackers coach Bill Shuey in attendance.

WR Derek Kinder (6-0¼, 202 pounds) ran a 4.54 and 4.60 in the 40, had a 36½-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot, 1-inch broad jump, a 4.10 short shuttle, a 6.64 three-cone drill and did 12 bench presses.

FB Conredge Collins (5-11¼, 224 pounds) ran a 4.72 and 4.64 in the 40, had a 34½-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot broad jump, a 4.18 short shuttle, a 6.93 three-cone drill and did 24 bench press reps.

OL C.J. Davis (6-2, 308 pounds) ran a 5.55 and 5.61 in the 40, had a 24½-inch vertical jump, a 4.62 short shuttle, a 7.64 three-cone drill and did 23 bench press reps.

P Dave Brytus (6-3¾, 223 pounds) did position drills.

S Eric Thatcher (5-9 1/8, 200 pounds) ran a 4.71 and 4.75 in the 40, had a 37-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot, 11-inch broad jump, a 4.25 short shuttle, a 6.97 three-cone drill and did 16 bench press reps

First Fox goes to the Pitt pro day every year because he has a lot of friends in the Pittsburgh area and the team. Last year he actually was looking at someone. The team is looking at Ayers because he is a top DE this year. But more than likely, unless we trade peppers which might not happen, dont have a chance at getting late in the 2nd
