Thomas Davis was drafted #14 in 2005... for the sole purpose of spying on Michael Vick.

The Falcons lead the match-up 20-12..however before last season the two teams were dead even in wins and losses since the Panthers joined the league.

It is suggested that Atlanta and Charlotte have the highest percentages of opposing fans living in each city.

Steve Smith has caught 66 passes for 834 yards in games where he was not injured, or an average of five receptions for 64.2 yards per game. This may not seem prodigious but it is widely accepted that Smith has had big games against the Falcotton headed ninny muggins...who currently have the 28th ranked pass defense.

The dirty turds have won 4 of the last 5 and have won the last 2 games by the exact same score of 31-10.

Before that the Panthers won 5 of 7. Since 2005 we are 6-6.

Atlanta had 9 sacks against the Panthers in the first meeting in 1995 - a team record. Morten Anderson kicked the winning FG in overtime. He was only 35 at the time.

Three games have gone to overtime.

The teams have never met in the playoffs.

In 2006 we boo'ed a punt returner for the Dolphins...simply because he was related to Michael Vick.

The Panthers won the only game to occur outside or NC or GA - a 21-7 drubbing in December 1995 at Clemson.

The Falcons have held the blowouts (30-0, 41-0, 51-23) but the Panthers have gutted out a few (9-6, 10-3).

51 points are the most scored by the falcons in the Georgia dome and happened in 1998. During that game the Falcons scored three touchdowns in 48 seconds, an NFL record.

Beer at the Georgia dome costs $7.00...a full .$25 less than in BofA.

Who suggests this? I rarely see Falcon fans in Charlotte, we have more Dallas and Washington fans than anything else. As rivalries go, I bet SD and Oakland hold that record.

Seriously, I hope we all still feel the sting of the 2002 season with Peete at the helm. Two of the three blowouts referenced were from that season: 30-0 and 41-0.

After taking a 17-3 halftime lead, Atlanta stormed out of the locker room and scored on a short touchdown run by FB Bob Christian on the opening possession. Little did “Sister” Christian know that his run would be the impetus for an impending new record.

Carolina fumbled on its first play of their next drive and the Birds were in business at the Panthers 26-yard line.

On the very first play, TE O.J. Santiago hauled in a 26-yard touchdown strike to put the Falcons on top 31-3. On their next offensive possession, Carolina WR Muhsin Muhammad fumbled after making a catch and Atlanta S William White scooped up the loose ball and rambled 18-yards into the record books for another touchdown.

Atlanta scored three touchdowns in just 48 seconds, the fastest in NFL history since the 1970 merge

Just curious, do you mean that Charlotte has the most Falcons fans and Atlanta has the most Panthers fans

OR

that Charlotte and Atlanta have the most fans from all the other teams (Packers,Cowboys, etc.)

I feel the latter may be true but wasn't sure if that's what you meant. Regardless, good thread.
