Nebraska DT Crick Out for the Season

The Huskers announced on Wednesday that Crick, a senior, has a torn pectoral muscle that will keep him out for the rest of the season.

Crick was a second-team All-American last year and a two-time first-team All-Big 12 honoree. He has been projected as a first-round NFL pick and ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. has him ranked him No. 18 overall on his most recent 2012 Big Board

I'm wondering where he'll go in April. I've seen some mock drafts with Crick going to the Panthers in the 1st but idk how his stock will be. Hopefully he makes a full recovery, I hate to see this happen to anyone in their senior year.

If we were to trade down and acquire an extra second and he falls, could be a steal.

This DT class in general hasn't impressed me much this season. I know there is a lot of football left to be played but I'd figured we would have some major front runners by now.

I haven't heard about Crick much this season and I too worry if Suh's departure has something to do with it but Crick seemed to do okay last year without Suh. I still think he can be a solid DT though.

If we were to be in position for a trade down this year and somehow got back into the 3rd or a late 2nd I wouldn't mind taking Crick if he's still on the board.

So with that injury, how long will it take to heal? We may have him be Brandon Hogan 2.0 and get him in the 4th round?

I wouldn't completely rule out him being available in the 4th. He's had a down year and is now out for the season. He gets gashed in the run game but I would love him coming off the bench to improve our pass rush.

Who wouldn't suffer after the departure of a guy like Suh? Dude is a one man wrecking crew.

He strikes me as more of a 3-4 end, TBH.
