People that do these things were usually brought up around it. For others, it's just their nature, they are kindhearted people. Mans natural instinct is to protect his woman. It's the type of person they are and that usually doesn't change with time.

I open doors, I walk on the side of the sidewalk closest to traffic, I give her my coat, I go get all of the food at movies or sporting events......but I will absolutely not share my food at dinner. I make enough money if you want to try the quesadilla explosion salad I'll buy you a fuging salad, but I'm hungry and I want the whole thing. And no, you can't have any of the delicious mini-quesadillas either. Am I asking for a bite of your stuff? No, I'm not. If I wanted ribs I would have ordered ribs. There is an understanding going in on what food is community and what is for individual consumption. Yes honey, try the egg rolls on the sampler platter, they are delicious, but stay the fug away from my entree before this poo gets serious.

Sorry, I'll end my rant.

She's gonna remind you of this the next time you want some of her pie.

I've been married for ten years, and we've been together for almost 15. Stuff just becomes automatic.

If during the early part of the relationship, you were opening doors and offering jackets because you cared, not just to get some ass, you will still do it later in life. It depends what you're all about.

Do you still open the car door for your lady? Do you give her your coat when it gets chilly outside and she forgot hers?

I'm asking because today I saw this couple that I haven't seen in like forever. They used to come over when I was a kid, Today I saw them again, They're still together and when they were leaving. He opened the car door for his lady, then she proceeded to unlock the door for him..

Thought that was kinda nice. Chivalry isn't dead?

When I get married, I don't know if I'll be like that, but I will sure try. :D

My wife and I will have been married 15 years in Feb.

My wife hates the cold, she never forgets her coat. :)

I do sometimes cover her with a blanket and kiss her cheek when she falls asleep on the couch. When we are riding down the road, I sometimes hold her hand just for the heck of it.

This allows me some wiggle room when I screw up. :)

been married for 7, together for 11...

he still opens doors for me (not car doors, that's a bit much imo)..I still say thank you when he does it. If he can see that I'm cold, he offers me his jacket..I still say thank you when he pays for dinner and drinks. Just b/c you've been married or together for a long time doesn't mean you have to start being an ass or unappreciative

Married for 18 years and I can't think of a time I didn't open a door for her and almost always opened the car door for her also. But don't listen to me, I am now temporarily living with a co-worker and headed for divorce. That's what happens when you get the little things right but really fug up the big things.

<<<curls up in fetal postion and starts uncontrollable sobbing.
