wow. people really aren't paying attention.

thread title is wrong.

reed is still covering the panthers. he's just telling carolina growl bye bye.

silly peoples.

Well, as an AP writer he's probably not going to be covering them nearly as much. I'd guess one feature and maybe a preview each week during the season, plus game stories from home. He wont be interviewing both coordinators every week or attending the combine or traveling with the team.

Be nice to Joe Person. You would struggle too if you had to cover the Panthers, and also ghost write for:

  • Obituaries for unclaimed bodies.
  • Weddings with Bride/Groom combos that weighed over 600 lbs.
  • Bridge club battles with Buffy in Ballantyne.
  • Police blotter covering all copper thefts

Remember JR's rant about some of the articles that were being written in his presser last year... I bet most of that was aimed at Gantt.

An example would be Gantt accusing Fox of mutiny in his decision to start St. Pierre over Pike. Panthers were not fans of Fox at the time, but it's the kind of negative press I'm sure they frown on no matter who the coach is, because it paints the whole organization in a bad light.

JR's comment was directly aimed at Gantt, and I don't think he was well-loved, but I really do think he was reassigned due to financial reasons. Another poster here broke it down earlier.
