good for him to get out of CO

An old friend of mine had a bird and when she moved to Charlotte the bird got sick. Terrible constipation. She thought of everything it could be and went through hell trying to get that bird to sh-t. Turns out once she took the CO out of the bottom of the cage, Yahtzee!

Damn bird wouldn't even sh-t on that rag.

I don't think anybody knows for sure, but I'm guessing he must have done something to piss off the Panthers FO.

Gantt could be negative at times, maybe they just wanted to start of the Rivera era without a beat writer that had a tendancy to put a negative spin on things.

In which case I would agree with. I can't stand writers who make a living saying "controversial" stuff and consistently trying to down everything. Drives me up the wall.

Remember JR's rant about some of the articles that were being written in his presser last year... I bet most of that was aimed at Gantt.

An example would be Gantt accusing Fox of mutiny in his decision to start St. Pierre over Pike. Panthers were not fans of Fox at the time, but it's the kind of negative press I'm sure they frown on no matter who the coach is, because it paints the whole organization in a bad light.

Maybe the GG will approach Gantt about taking over Reed's job.

As a mid-20K circulation paper, this is the kind of opening that wouldn't surprise me at all to go unfilled, or to be absorbed as part-time work for someone already on the staff (in other words a story from practice once a week, coverage of home games). A full-time NFL beat is terribly expensive for a paper of that size to support, and it may have been a job on the verge of extinction already.

Might be the reason Reed jumped to a sturdier job after all these years. Just speculating.
