Gross said he was skeptical from what he had heard about Cam but once he met Cam Gross said basically all that went out the window.

I swear I remember them delaying the announcement of captains this year because there was some voting controversy between what was assumed to be Cam & Smitty for the last patch. Anybody else remember this? I think it was tweeted by a couple of guys. Whether that was true or not, Cam will definitely get one from next year on no doubt.

Yup, I would bet that had something to do with Cam and Rivera didn't want to put that on him just yet... wanted to make him earn it.
