Job Opportunity - what would you do?

I'd have reservations about a 6 month contract position. On the plus side, you aren't giving up any benefits to go contract. More than likely the new job is the way to go, just try to get a feel for they're thoughts about hiring you on permanent after the contract is up. If you were giving up benefits, it would be a completely different story but an extra 200 bucks a week is nothing to sneeze at.

Hell no, I already make twice as much as I'd get in a studio. If it was moving into audio engineering full time, even for a slight cut in pay, I'd take it. This is a pretty menial office type position. Unfortunately I have experience in this area...

as someone who has struggled to work in a similar creative field for the last 7 years and is finally finding stability as a freelancer, I'll just say this...

don't lock yourself into something that affords you a lifestyle that you won't be willing to give up if/when you get your opportunity to do what you love.

My current job, I can't afford to get a nicer place to conduct my audio stuff. My house isn't large enough. But with a better job I could get a bigger place, space to do recordings and such, freelance, in my spare time. I already do that with my current situation, by space is limiting. I've taken this into consideration with the new job as well...

whatever gets you where you want to be... not where it'll be "good enough."

So I thought the interview went well. It was more me revealing my personality traits than discussing my skills. I spoke with who would be my direct manager, a 26 year old girl fresh out of school, and also got to meet one of the top managers of the company. I thought if he took time out of his schedule to meet me it was a good sign.

Well I haven't heard back yet and it's Wednesday now. I'm starting to think I didn't get it but no news could be good news. Still waiting.
