That's the way I see it too. The Cards were determined to stop our running game. They focused on that and dared Jake to beat them. Unfortunately, on that night he wasn't up to the task. An OC can't do much when their QB is having that kind of day.

I agree. They did what ANY other HC/DC should do and WILL do in the future.

Scheme against the run and the put the ball in the hands of Jake Delhomme.

Just because a MAJORITY of the fans want Jake out of here, does not make them morons or uneducated.

Sometimes there is such elitist attitude around here.

I respect everyone's opinion, for all of us want the Panthers to be the best then can be.

Those results would be the same if it were a nation wide poll as well.

You can call the majority of the people ignorant or uneducated, but there are reasons Jake gets no respect around the league by NFL fans and you can not take a blind eye to that fact.

Fans have been calling for Jake to shipped out of here for years now. I see we need help on the defensive side, but the face of the franchise is the QB.

It still completely baffles my mind why I need to even state the case that Cutler is better then Jake for Panthers franchise. Water is wet, sky is blue and women shop. I dont understand the logic of keeping Jake over Cutler at all, but hey thats your opinion and I respect it.

There is no reason not to bring in Cutler and address the defense in the draft. Its a win-win situation. Carolina is starving for some excitement, which we got a taste of last year.

Honestly, all of our opinions mean doo doo to personnel people and people who build teams and that is as it should be. So what fans think on a poll means doo doo to me. For me, it boils down to philosophy of how to build a team. I don't see a need to have a "franchise" type QB and don't think it is the most likely model to keep a team in the hunt. Most of you disagree with me. Plus I value different things in a QB than most of you. I'll always be happier with a great D a solid offense and a Chad Pennington type of QB. That's it.

The poll was for biggest need in FREE AGENCY. Jake IS a liability. I would rather have a Vet thats better than Jake than a rookie QB in this years draft, but I wouldn't be upset if we drafted a QB this year.

For the draft, yes thats where I would vote for DL. Young talent that will have our defense set for years.

I have family in Nj and I have always compared Pennigton to Jake.

I dont like either of them !

Lots of Jets fans hated Chad because he could not throw a deep ball.

Jake and Chad both can zip underneath passes, but once they throw over 25 yards thier passes hang up in the air for about a week.

I agree about the defense, but not on the QB selection at all.

Franchise QB'S mean everything. Bradshaw, Kelly,Aikmen,Brady,Warner,Montana.

Sure Jake may be as good as Trent Dilfer, but we do not have that defense.

It's alright. A majority of the ones that still support Jake are on this board. The rest are still holding on to hope with him or within the organization. And I dont believe everyone on the team supports him 100%. You don't think after reading Wharton's article he may have some ill feelings towards Jake now after looking back at the loss and seeing that he still doesn't have a ring on his finger?
