2008-2010 Draft hit rate

I would have to say that J.Stewart,J.Otah,C.Godfrey,D.Conner, S.Martin,C.Munnerlyn,G.Hardy,D.Gettis would all count in my book, too bad he didn't have 07' included or we would have to add Beason,Kalil, and C.Johnson

So I have 8/25 or 11/33 both hitting on about 33% not 13%.

BTW don't trust this guy, he can't even add up correctly how many picks we have had in the last 3 years.

I think fans expect too much from the 2nd and 3rd rounds on average. I spent a day looking at it one time and there are a ton of crappy players in those rounds every year that everyone forgets about and they always act like when their team misses it's a tragedy.

If you want to read a book about the 03, 04, and 05 drafts, I wrote one about it.

It's just odd that his success record for the 3rd round is so many moons higher than the 2nd. Of the guys still on the team it's Travelle Wharton, James Anderson, CJ, Godfrey, Connor, Lafell, McClain, Armanti and Fua vs. Kalil, Sherrod, and Clausen.

This reminds me of the Dolphins preseason game this year. Right before the game, the Panthers announced the huge extension of Ryan Kalil.

During the game, the Dolphins commentators were like, Ryan Kalil got a huge extension today... Never heard of the guy...

Wtf.

I don't know. If I had to guess, I would say that he likes to draft guys that fall down the draft board (Jarrett, Clausen, Foster, Brown, etc.) in the second round, the third rounders are guys he had guessed would be there and scouted more effectively. But in his defense it has worked on some guys like Kalil and Marshall who were projected to be first rounders.

Pretty small sample size actually considering that we've moved second round picks a lot in recent years.

2008

Stewart, Otah, Godfrey, Connor, Barnidge, Schwartz, Bernadeau.

2009

Martin, Goodson, Munnerlyn

2010

Lafell, Edwards, Gettis, Hardy

All play and/or starters which I would consider impact players. Marty catches a lot of hell but I for one like the guy and he has made some good picks especially in the first round. His later round picks have been spot on too with Gettis, Hardy, and Captain who were all 6th rounders I believe.

I wouldn't include Barnidge, Edwards, Schwartz or Bernadeau on that list yet. But yeah I would agree with the others. Still 1 or 2 years is too soon to judge impact players.
