I don't want to see the Brees/Graham show again starring Ryan/Gonzalez. He's a dangerous red zone target, and Ryan can get it to him quick when there is a blitz. Which linebacker will contain him? Jason Williams? James Anderson? Mybe Godfrey will come up and give him some hard knocks.

And Weems is no Hester or Sproles, but I don't trust our kick coverage team kicking to anyone right now. I like Smitty and our TE's against their secondary, and hope to see Cam continue to evade the rush - you know they will be coming after him often.

godfrey played real well against graham last game when he got the call. but with the over top threat of roddy white, its hard to imagine we'll see godfrey lined up across from gonzo much. stop turner and fluster ryan with the pass rush and we're good.

Positional advantages

QB: CAR

RB: push

WR: ATL

TE: push

OL: push

DL: ATL

LB: push

CB: ATL

S: CAR

ST: push

Coaching: ATL

being ridiculously overdue for good luck: CAR

WR....not so much if julio is out.

also, as weak as we think our CBs are....theirs isn't really all that great either. esp. since they lost one of their safeties (their starting SS william moore) and one of their CBs (NB christopher owens) in the game. things might be opened up for us even more.

i don't like comparing positions, though. i like looking at matchups.

WRs vs. secondary: panthers (esp. if julio is out)

run game vs. front seven: panthers

RBs/TEs in passing game vs. LBs and S: panthers

QB vs. pass rush: panthers

I thought I had heard that Smith was playing this very close to the vest and wouldn't update his status until much later in the week.

That is what they reported. We know he won't practice Wednesday and they will update it but I doubt he plays. Hamstrings need time to heal or they become chronic.

Our Oline is much better than theres not a push, our RBs are also better.
