the more I realize how impressive Dan Marino's yards in a season record is

he did it when QB's weren't untouchable. the past several seasons Brady/Manning/insert superstar QB pretty much have an invisible forcefield around them that prevents defenses from looking at them wrong. wr's also aren't allowed to play like they can now. db's could actually be physical without getting called for holding or PI.

the fact it hasn't been beaten, even though the rules have been changed to HEAVILY favor the offense, is nothing short of amazing
