If You Are In Charlotte, Be Thankful... RDU Radio Is Run By Uninformed Retards

I apologize in advance for any typos as I am typing this on a Blackberry, but anyway, I've heard people onthis board complain about your options in sports radio there in Charlotte but, you have it so good compared to the RDU-area.

Anyway, I'm sitting in the car with the kids as my wife is in the store and this idiot Joe Ovies is talking about The Golden Calf of Bristol and how John Fox has no choice but to start him now. This then turns into how he doesn't think The Golden Calf of Bristol is a pro-QB and to my surprise, this then turns into a The Golden Calf of Bristol vs Newton argument.

Ovies then says that both guys are smart but both guys have serious issues in delivering the ball to receivers, insinuating that Cam has mechanical/delivery issues, and he's concerned that Cam 'will' struggle to get the ball out to receivers. This was then followed by a caller saying that The Golden Calf of Bristol was in front of Cam at UF for a reason. This caller then made a poor joke about Cam should've had the advantage b/c he had 'a better laptop to watch film on'. The caller goes on to say Cam is not a pro QB and cites how he has made critical mistakes and the ball has been in his hands every game.

The co-host Adam Gold, who I rarely agree with, told the caller to slow down and asked if he had actually watched any of the games, b/c the evidence suggests otherwise. The caller then says yes, he was there yesterday watching the game in person in a fiery manner.

I'm just blown away that anyone has watched our games, especially those that call themselves fans could still question Cam's ability as an NFL QB. The guy is doing things no other QB has done this early. When you have guys that know film and know the QB position, and played professionally, who were once critics like Bradshaw, Billick, etc. now saying the guy is legit, where do these armchair analysts come up with these fake ass concerns? And how do guys like this get to host radio shows? The stats speak for themselves, and if we had a defense the wins would be there. I just don't know how if you watched any of our games you could come to the conclusion that Cam isn't going to be a top 10 to top 5 QB in a few years.

And for the record, I think The Golden Calf of Bristol will be a good NFL QB, and I was right with Cam too.

Sorry for the vent session, but I can't stand biased idiots talking out of their ass. Stick to hockey jackasses.

Yeah, it is kind of funny.

The guys in Raleigh suck ass and are fuging retarded on anything Panther related, but they are very good with ACC sports. And, the guys in Charlotte are vice versa. And that makes sense.

Thats why in Raleigh, I turn in to 620 AM after 4 to listen to The Drive.

But college basketball talk is great in RDU.

I actually like the radio in CLT, it has it's deficiencies, but at least I get to hear Panther talk on the reg. The worst part is the retards that call into these shows sometimes. If anyone listens to the Mac Attack, like a week and a half ago they had a who would you rather have Luck or Cam argument, and some people were still seriously saying Luck. One guy said I want Luck he will be Manning, Cam will be Roethlisberger. At that point they brought up the fact Ben has two rings and Peyton has 1.

@ Ivan, agreed that Cam "had" accuracy issues, b/c he's showing right now in games that accuracy isn't an issue right now. He's not Aaron Rodgers, Brady, or Manning accurate yet, but he's hitting plenty more than he misses. And his deep passes are elite level.

I jus take offense to the mechanics thing b/c his delivery was never an issue, his footwork was b/c he wasn't used to taking the snap from under center, which he has done increasingly more the last few weeks without much of an issue, and he looks more accurate as a rookie than any QB we've ever had except maybe Beuerlein's miracle year.

To think we have 'fans' like this idiot that called in as fans attending the game is embarrassing. I seriously question if they watch any of the game while they're there. I'm not saying Cam is perfect, no one is, but he's doing it better than any other rookie ever has. How much longer will idiots hold to outdated questions that have already been proven invalid or when that fails just make jokes about immature mistakes he made?

And agreed with Bruce, but man they're ignorance in regards to the Panthers completely turns me off from listening to anything insightful they might have to say about things they're actually knowledgeable about.

Cam does ave accuracy issues. His issues arnt as bad as it appeared in the preseason nor as bad as pretty much everyone was saying before game 1, however he does have issues. the main being that just about every throw he makes is too high. some blame this on his height, i just blame it on his inexperience. people seem to forget that he is a rookie QB, playing in a system as alien to him as it can get, with no off season to speak of. he WILL get better, he WILL win games, he just needs time.

I just think it's not being sloppy with his mechanics. You see times where he steps into the throw perfectly and it's a thing of beauty, I don't think any of it is to the point where its second nature yet, but it will be.

I don't know Diddy. I've seen some Throws from cam that if it wasn't for a receiver adjustment, it would have been a really bad throw. I'm still saying he's got SOME accuracy issues, but not as bad. He'll work out those kinks. The amazing part is that his Deep Ball Accuracy is phenomenal! I've never seen anyone throw accurately that far. That's very encouraging. :D

    • I'm still not touching Hunter He again said the other day that he plans on playing both sides of the ball in the NFL.  If he is allowed to do that, he won't be as good on either side as his potential and he's going to have serious injury issues and have a short career.  If he's not allowed to do it, I think he's going to become a problem when the team isn't winning as he's going to feel him not being used on both sides of the ball is why. He's being coddled in that environment with Deion and I think it's doing a disservice to him to prepare him for life in the NFL where your coach isn't a 2nd father to you, to where you can just walk into his locker room and steal his shoes like Hunter does to Deion.
    • He’s a tad behind them. Around 15ish of 32 starters in the league. He’s well ahead of a lot of guys. Tua, Bryce, Cousins (present), Rodgers (current), Devito/Jones, Minshew, Russ (current), Watson, Smith, Carr, T Laws deep ball is weak as poo IMO, there’s plenty. And it’s not like everyone is ripping 60+ers. The key component is if you can rip and maintain velocity of the 30-40 yarders which he does super well. Legit every report out there from Brugler to PFF to PFN document him as good/above average arm strength.  Eye test tells me it’s pretty much that as well, slightly above average.
    • 6-10 carries for  35-45 yds and 3-5 catches for 15-25 would be great.
