THE stat of the game.

Defense needs to be better. There is no other way around these losses. The current personnel, between DT and linebacker, are just too weak. We lost 2 stud LB's that we weren't prepared to lose. The injury to Edwards, the same thing.

Either coaching needs to be ramped up, or different players need to be brought in. It just sucks relying solely on the offense to win these games. Cam and company should not have to work their asses off, only to lose because of the defense.

the thing to consider is that this is our base. we now just have to build around what is turning into a dominant offense.

THE stat of the game is 30-27.

they scored too much. we didn't score enough. everything else is just excuses.

we could have won. we didn't.

ToP. 3rd down conversions. drops. none of it kept us from winning because we almost won with those number being the same.

True statement, Your not going to win in the NFL if the other team puts 30 point up on you. The Defense is horrible right now.

How about this stat? Coming off of a special teams fiasco in Chicago, we allowed NO to block an extra point, and Rivera gave them 3 points trying to get different personnel on the field at the end of the half. Avoid those two plays, and we win.

Special teams has been as big of a problem, if not more, than the defense.

Well I'll admit the blocked XP and personnel confusion at the end of the half sucked, but the coverage for punts and KO's was great. Granted Mare booted everything out of the endzone, but Sproles was a non-factor on PR's.

I think we scored plenty, you don't win a lot of games allowing 30 points on Defense. We shouldn't have to score 30+ to win. (although now we have the ability to do so)

Special teams were definitely better this week, although they damn near blocked every kick we made with a rusher coming off the right. Why we didn't adjust to have someone pick him up is beyond me.

However, the point is that we know the defense needs work. That is not a simple fix or one that will happen overnight, but if we can just clean up the simple, elementary stuff, largely on special teams, our record looks a lot better.

if we didn't score more than them, then we didn't score plenty.

what we scored would have been enough if 1) cam didn't throw that INT right out of the gate and 2) rivera hadn't called that timeout when he did and 3) we didn't have another kick blocked.

still...agreed. we shouldn't have to score 30+ points to win.
