Comments on Cam Newton

he is 1-4 sorry if i set the bar for a top overall pick a lil higher than u do...i have to ask are u an arm chair fan or do u spend the money to actually go to the games?and i was not calling u out specifily but this kids is years away from being accruate...somebody should take him ***** shooting so he can learn about leading a target...and this is my biggest point here cam beena qb since pop warner so figure for 15 years he has been playing qb so if after 15 years his throws are this innacurate how is anyone gonna expect him to be better just beacuse of a lil ota and mini camp this is not something easily taught

sb i said leve him out therer to take the beating and build the o line and the d line then u take a qb when u fiond one worthy of takeing esp wiht the top pick a qb that cannot throw acc is never gona take u anywhere either and glad u brought up detriaot there isa prime example they took megatron becasue he ws the best player on the board even aftr taking 3 wr;s in the first round and the fact the really needed a qb. they did not panick after they got rid of millian they made solid sound picks and took calvin then took stafford and if i was the gm we would not have trade a 1st round pick for e brown we would not have clausen we wouuld not have edwards we would have taken colt mccoy and been taking def and o line since then as thats our biggest holes. and if we don't get a replacement for gross next years draft we are in deep poo. gorss is ageing and slowing and we need to get a huge left tackle and move gross inside

Yes move Gross to guard ^

if, if if if cam dopn't throw the pic 6 in chicago we win,,,,,if cam don't choke on the goalline in az we win the best game he has played was the jags game and he still looked bad in it

I beg you all.

Dont be blind homers.

Dont be blind haters.

Watch the game and enjoy it. Its a team sport. Its not all about Cam or Dwill or CJ or whoever.

Future is bright.

TruCatz,

Huddle is a volatile place. IMO we have some of the most passionate fans here. Which is why they are so confrontational. Luckily I believe the majority of the huddle understand this is gonna be a rough year. They also understand Cam can be a player in this league.

The reason this place melts down after every loss is simple. Passion. People want this team to be great SO bad I feel it. Panthers are just on this cusp of something. I think we can all feel it. Cam feels it. Rivera Feels it. Shock, Dwill, Etc. If we can just string some wins this season, grow as a team and a fan base, get everyone back and ready for 2012....man....keep your head of a swivel.

    • Oh he would absolutely flourish. It’s the panthers way. It’s no different with coaches. Sometimes they reach their expiration date, go somewhere else, and find new success.  Similarly to Burns, how long to wait for the light to finally turn on?  Market forces will demand a salary that the panthers can not responsibly match. Sliding him to guard will fit his skill set better, but he has played LT for 3 years. He will receive offers from other teams wanting to pay him LT money.  At guard, he won’t start with what they have paid Hunt and Lewis. Center then?? Dunno. Maybe? He will become a backup by default once they draft their stud LT. I doubt Dan just stands pat. That’s not his MO.  So where does this put him? Can you match what other teams will offer for a backup LT/guard? Do you dish out franchise LT $ on a guy who still needs significant improvement in pass protection. This team will be DOA in the playoffs with the very first team who has a formidable speed rusher. What if he has hit his ceiling in pass protection already and they sign him long term? It’s a big gamble either way.
    • We're in a great position to see just how big of a misstep it would be, having made so many ourselves
    • I didn't say I would have done it. I was just saying that I can see why some in the FO considered it. Everything was done to give Bryce weapons. Solidify the interior line thru FA. Get XL at WR in round 1 and then get the most talented RB in round 2. Take a TE in round 4, etc They were probably "assuming" he'd make a complete recovery during the 2024 season. I'm a skeptical person. I wouldn't have assumed he'd be ok in 2024. I personally would have taken another position in the 2nd for that very reason. But, if I were "influenced" to take him I would've argued to keep him off the field, especially seeing how things were going for us record wise. Conventional Wisdom says most backs don't get back to normal until two years after the ACL surgery. He was injured in Fall 2023. Having him suit up in 2025 would have been almost 2 years since the original injury. You have him for 3 year on low contract. If he balls out, you resign him for a couple of more years b/c he'd only have 3 years of tread on the tires. If he's ok but not great you let him walk.
