We can play with anyone

90% of the people complaining about the team never go to the games and 100% of those people think they know everything about football. I go to every game and I refer to over half of our players by their numbers because I don't know who they are. I can only name 5 starting players on the defence and 2 of the 5 are gone for the season. I have seven panthers jerseys and 89 is the only player still on the team.

We're 5 games into a season with new coaches and more new players than we have ever had. I would like one of the Huddle experts to show me another team in NFL history that has gone through the changes the Panthers have this year plus the CBA lock out and have had a winning season?

I hate to lose, but the future looks bright and it's going to be sooner than later that this team is a playoff contender every year.

Losing = irrelevant.

Giving games away = pissed.

They don't have to learn to win. They have to learn how not to beat themselves.

The idiot play-calling is the biggest problem. DeAngelo Williams = ONE rushing TD this season, on an option from "mid-field". Jonathan Stewart = ZERO rushing TDs this season.

If Ron Rivera and Chudzinski don't start running Stewart & Williams when the Panthers get the ball down near the goal line instead of ramming their quarterback head first into the defense, the media need to start questioning their intelligence.

The great irony here is that had we been blown out by the Pack, the Saints, and maybe the Bears, people like you would have been saying that we just weren't yet ready to compete with the elite.

That is what was expected coming into the year.

But now, because the team is playing much better than expected, everyone is pissed off that we aren't 3-2 or 4-1.

Talk about changing expectations!

This^^^ We are not going to even have moral victories if we have to revert to Jimmy.

There are no "people like me" anywhere. Besides, I was pissed off after they GAVE AWAY THE FIRST GAME.

Nothing about my expectations has changed, because I never had any. Stupid decisions are stupid decisions. I complain about stupid decisions that lead to losses, not losses themselves.

Marguide is right, we aren't supposed to be playing at this high a level. We've played two of of the best teams in the NFL and had a very good chance to beat both. And we're getting closer. I'm the cynical type, but I think this team is going to put it all together and start winning some games. I'm not suggesting we're playoff bound this year, but wouldn't be srurprised by a late run.

Losses suck. I hate them as much as anyone. But those of you that cannot appreciate how far this team has come compared to last year are living in another world.

In 2010, we had zero, zilch, ninguna, chance of beating teams like the Packers, Bears, or Saints. This year, we had a good chance in each of those games, coming up just a little short.

Some of you are ready to fire Rivera, hang Chud, castrate McDermott and all of our defensive players because we have lost games to very good opponents. All I can say is apparently that group of people did not watch any Panther football in 2010.

Breathe in, breathe out.

Yeah... I agree. The defense still sucks :-) They do play ok/good at times. I like what I am seeing this season. Today I did think "if they win this game, and next week... maybe they go on a run" ; I think that is still possible. It is all on the D stopping people. If they can't pull it all together this year, they have players on that side of the ball and I am sure the guys you listed will draft and bring in to build the rest.

Were all over the place.

McDermott confused brees twice but we also tackle poorly. The saints ran the clock out on us while still behind because they were so confident that they could score.

Cam looks fantastic but also has the expected rookie mistakes.

We run the ball well but we barely run the ball.

I can't decide if we're a crappy team playing above our ability or a good team that just plays like crap.

We are a pretty damn good team that is learning as we go. There are going to be bumps and it ain't going to happen over night.

We don't need to take comfort in any loss but I do take comfort in the fact that this is the launching off point. This is the beginning, not the finished product. Yet we are in a position to beat good teams with a spectacular, but still a rookie, QB and a gaggle of guys from other team's waiver wires on defense.

For the upcoming teams on our schedule, we are a nightmare.

They know we are a dangerous team, and we have nothing to lose. Compare us to Atlanta, for example, who mortgaged their future for a SB run this year. They cannot afford more losses and still reach expectations, so all the pressure is on them.

It is going to be fun to watch us play the spoiler role this year. And you never know; we could get hot, and string some wins together. It's going to be fun to watch. Rivera just has to do a masterful job of managing the team's attitude through the good and bad times.

The thing is that I'm not seeing a lot of individual improvement on the field. Cam Newton is willing this thing by himself and is overcoming a lot of crappy coaching and crappy play by the rest of the team.

Go watch the Arizona game again. The improvement we have made in the past month has been steady and in the right direction.

Two weeks ago the huddle was ready to trade DWill for a ham sandwich, today he ran for 115. Today, we held the 2009 Super Bowl champs to 101 yards on the ground. DWill had more rushing yards than the whole Saints team.

Last week our run defense was so bad Cutler only had to throw 17 times the whole game.

Let that sink in.

Today, Easy Breazy had to pass 45 times to finally beat us with 50 ticks left.

We lost to GB last week by 7, ATL lost tonight by 11.

Next week we will beat the "angry birds" by much more than that..
