The silver lining in all this losing

So it's frustrating being one of the best 1-4 teams ever right? Yes of course it is, but it has a huge benefit. We're going to end up getting a MUCH better draft pick than we actually deserve based off how good the team is. It's absolutely in the realm of possibility that we're going to have a chance to get either Alshon Jeffery or Justin Blackmon.

Look into my crystal ball and picture the 2012 Panthers with Cam Newton with a year under his belt and a full regular offseason complete with OTAs. Picture him getting Alshon Jeffery or Justin Blackmon lining up with Steve Smith and a returning David Gettis in addition to Shockey/Olsen/DeAngelo/Stewart. Now watch Beason run onto the field with Ron Edwards and basically an extra draft pick in Brandon Hogan. Picture Ron Rivera who's had a full year to understand clock management.

We're all upset and this is the most pissed I've been after a loss since the Cardinals playoff game, but this is going to end up helping us long-term.

Nice spin but we have to take the best defensive player available in the first round.

I know Cam wants to win now. That is all he has known since.. who knows when! He has been on teams where they have had talent or he doesn't win championships.. PERIOD.

This is the NFL and to be perfectly honest, the Panthers have played very well with a rookie QB, no matter how good. To be in games where they have had the chance to win against the Packers, Bears, and Saints; all teams that can easily win the Superbowl this year and one will probably do so, is awesome.

You negative peeps who can only backstab the coaching staff or who ever your enemy is at the time need to grow a brain.

The topic is dead on. No great team gets to be great with one draft. It took the Steelers of the 70s, 3 or 4 years to obtain their dynasty. And the Cowboys of the 90s were 1-13 in Troy Aikmans first year... I didn't see him whine about losing and ask to be traded.

Some of you are too impatient and need to grow up.

We still have 11 games to play, so I personally don't want to hear anything about the draft until those games are played.

Plus, at this point in the season it is almost impossible to tell who the top 5, or 10 picks in the draft are going to be. For example, at this point last year most people still had no idea who Cam Newton was.

fug that poo, our d-line will have experience, our linebackers will be back, our secondary will still be pretty good, naanee will still suck (as for gettis, i don't think he'll compare to the talent of the top 2 wrs)

draft jeffreys or blackmon

however, if the jags and rams are worse than us, then yeah, get some defense
