Guess I need to eat a little crow. I did some digging and I have confirmed through two different sources (in the merchandising department for NFL ventures) believe it or not that the Panthers WILL be changing their jerseys next year. So hat tip to the OP and to anyone thinking of buying a Panthers jersey this year I would wait.

Again--Panthers will change uniforms to a complete overhaul w/ Nike in 2012.

Combat crap. I hate the "futuristic" look that looks as if it stepped out of an Under Armour commercial. It would be absolutely humiliating to have uni's like that-and I honestly think it takes away all of our legitimacy as a franchise. You don't see storied franchises changing to that ridiculous stuff.

I really just wanted them to add some black pants to the repertoire and maybe a stripe down the side of the jersey and be done with it.

If this is true-which as far as I'm concerned it's still way up in the air at this point- but if it is-I wish they would put these things out and let the fanbase give some feedback on them before making a switch that we are stuck with for at least five seasons.

From what I heard--they aren't going the pro combat route, no NFL team is.

Think more along the lines of the Denver Broncos original long time uniforms to their more recent.... they're going to put some new piping etc. and make things look sleeker albeit completely different. It sucks but had to figure.

Also was told the Seahawks and St. Louis Rams are making changes as well.

Of course the Broncos ripped off their "Cyber Horse" logo from what was to be the "St. Louis Stallions" expansion team back in 1993.... but Charlotte got a franchise instead.;)

i know some bemoan uniform threads but im a uni junk in all sports.

i have emailed both the Panthers and Bobcats to crank out a "retro" jersey. Make look like it was from the 70's or 80's.

Have the classic 2 or 3 stripes on the shoulders with block #'s. But I do agree, no Rollerball looking uni's. Stay away from college and Arena football.
