Panthers College Internship?

If you are interested in pursuing a career on the operations side of a professional football team, I'd strongly suggest that you start in the atheletic department at your college/university. I have two close friends that have worked for multiple professional sports teams. Both built their resume by working in the athletics department at Penn State as interns. One is in public relations, the other in broadcasting. The one in PR left Penn State and took an internship with the Browns. He was offered a job, and over the years moved up the ladder at two different NFL teams and an NHL team. He's back in the NFL now. The friend in broadcasting left Penn State and got an internship with a station in New Orleans. He has done play-by-play for some college sports, arena football, and pro football, but is now working full-time as a talk radio host. If you asked either of them, they'd tell you to get top grades and look for work in the atheltics departmnet at Albany while you're there. You'll build experience, hopefully have a good reference or two, and set yourself up to be competitive for an intership with a professional team once you graduate. My two pennies. Good luck.

So your girlfriend got paid to work at a drive thru?

Sonic<<<<<<<<<Panthers internship

Sonic Automotive is a Fortune 500 company that owns 100+ car dealerships.

It would be cool to work for the Panthers, but the internships I've seen listed on the teamworkonline.com site before have been mostly in ticketing/food and beverage. That's hardly how I want to spend a summer.

I was kidding around obviously.

But the reason the Panthers don't have to pay for internships is because they know how exclusive they are and along with the level of competition, it would be foolish for them to pay. It's similar to why people who start out on ESPN/SI/FS...etc are paid poorly because it is a cut throat industry where the jobs are so few and far between that people will work for next to nothing.
