Thanks for the link.

In fact, you got the distinct feeling Belichick was trying to send a message to Peppers and his agent to sign the $16.68 million tender with the Panthers because it would actually help the trade process along .

[belichick] I think if a player wants to be traded or wants to be in a position where he could be traded, then the best thing for that player to do is do what Matt Cassel did — sign the tender, be under contract, and then go to the team and say, ’Okay, I don’t want to be here, trade me, this is where I want to go.’”

Peppers and Carey are really screwing them selfs. This is why you sign a proven Agent when your a top 10 talent and not a first timer.

here's a conspiracy theory for you:

if peppers is carey's one and only client and the only one he has ever had, were peppers and carey close prior to him turning pro? how long have they been working together and was he more just someone that peppers trusted rather than a proven agent?

if carey was hurting because of the economy in other areas or wanted more money for some reason do you think he started sewing seeds of discontent in peppers head? i think fatty jenks did a lot of that while he was here but still, it could have been something that carey saw as a moment to capitalize on to get some extra money from getting a new contract.

he could also be trying to use this as a moment to try and drum up some other business as an agent. no one would have known who he was had it not been for this melodrama.

soo...is it possible that carey was behind all of this and just fed on peppers insecurities?

if we are going to speculate on something, it might as well be interesting.

Carey was Peppers Academic adviser of sorts at UNC, they became good friends, while Carey kept Peppers from Flunking out. (he almost did his freshman year) Then when the draft came around, Peppers hadn't signed an agent and was getting a crazy amount of calls, So Carey started screening them, then Carey decided where Peppers would Train for the Combine (still trains with the same guy), Then ended up being Peppers Agent when he got drafted and it came time for him to sign.

So Peppers and Carey are really good friends, probably Peppers most trusted and best friend.

That - exactly! Peppers doesn't seem to have the capacity to think for himself, he leaves it to Carey to do that for him. And he doesn't seem to be much better...

    • I don't think Rodgers but probably not for the political reasons I bet a lot of posters are motivated by. I just think he is not the QB for the Panthers, at all.
    • Sun Devils just scored another TD on BYU, 14-0
    • It wasn't great but  the 2022 NYG won 9 of 16 games plus a playoff game. He had a 92.5 passer rating. 15 pass TDs 3200 yards, 7 rushing TD, 700 yards 6 fumbles 3 lost.  His first season he had 18 fumbles lost 11. Wow.  Anyhow he had problems in 2023 with injuries and didn't win poo before tearing his ACL. This year, no Barkley, not good, but you know.... these ACLs take a while and it was right and he throws right so pushes off of it.  I agree it doesn't hurt to let that guy compete cheap. You don't hand him the job like with Bryce or NYG with him.  When I look at what we have been saddled with, he doesn't look worse and has the physical advantage. So I don't get the umbrage given our situation. This "No we won't settle for anything less that the best" attitude and then taking Bryce Young was pathetic and I think that attitude brought us to where we are. That's where that poo gets you. Away from Mayfield, away from Darnold, even away from PJ - just to replace them with an inferior PJ.  At the same time I am not really advocating for the guy just looking at it objectively. It could be another guy with the same story. And yes the odds of him getting it are low but the numbers and performance from 2022 are for sure better than we see with Bryce even after a season of major propping him up with better players around him. Take a look don't take a look he fails or he doesn't fail...   to instead sit here and be happier with what we have is bullshit.
