I am not a big Cutler fan and have always thought that he had the tools to be very good but not the intangibles and leadership skills. On the other hand, Martz's offense is totally wrong for Cutler and does nothing to accentuate his skill set. It has done one thing. I thought Cutler wasn't very tough but after Martz regularly hangs him out to dry with no blocking he has taken a beating and has hung in there showing that he might be tougher than I thought.

Still as long as Martz is there, Cutler will never develop into a great quarterback unless of course Martz changes his style. Unless there is a bodysnatching alien invasion, I doubt that happens either.

Its not the only reason. Johson and Hardy have put decent pressure on the qb's and the corners have played well.

But yea, our pass defense numbers would be a lot worse if our run d wasn't so porous.
