Not like Hollis Thomas was fit to run the Boston Marathon when we brought him in to help out our run D. But its like a tree stump, right? You can't move it. I say bring Pat's fat ass in.

Just because he is a familiar name and may have had some good seasons doesn't mean he is a good fit or still can play. If he can I believe would have probably been on a team right now. I think the Panthers are more interested in signing young guys for cheap that could possibly be a diamond in the rough and can shine in our system. We are building for the future and adding a guy that may be here half of a season isn't worth giving up a roster spot on someone that could have a bright future on the team. Even though it is unlikely it is the smartest way to go right now. Ron Fields looks decent. We may take a beast DT early in the draft for next year and Ron Edwards will be be back next season. Ron Fields, Ron Edwards, Terrell McClain, Sione Fua, and newly drafted guy will not be a bad set of DTs next season. Especially if we can get a beast in the draft to start next to Edwards.

What happens when you pay a guy who is fat, has played in the league a while, and has already been paid?

You get minimal return and effort. No thanks on this guy. Sign a guy who takes up space that just came out of college. Someone hungry.
