His DUI arrest in May didn't do him any favors either.

My best memory of Applewhite was the hit that he laid on Dwayne Bowe on an onside kick in Kansas City that saved our 2008 season. Kassim Osgood recovered, we marched down the field and scored the GW TD to win 22-21 after trailing 21-9 at the 2 minute warning. You guys even helped, creaming Denver later that day to keep them from clinching the West.

I say keep bringing them in and keep cutting the non performing players. In my completely uninformed opinion about half the team is dead weight, we just haven't found any players to take that spot away from the riff-raff.

agreed. thats the way we are going to find the right guys....esp. at this point in the season. the guys that will help out the most on STs esp. will be guys we've never heard of.

They've done it some already, particularly on the safety on Gabbert. CJ actually gets push and collapses the pocket lined up at DT. We just need someone solid at DE while he does it. Hopefully Applewhite can do that.

I googled him to see what Chargers forums have and are saying about him. Back a couple years ago some thought he could be a poor mans Merriman but it seems he only showed flashes and the DUI ended up being the nail in the coffin. I hope he turns into a beast but something tells me he is only depth and maybe a decent ST player (which we so could use).
