still not consistent enough. Great play one down.....and he too often can follow it up w/ horrific play.

There are very few truly great safeties in the NFL. You've got Polamalu, Ed Reed, Nick Collins and maybe a couple others. Godfrey is solidly in that 2nd-tier group that includes Antrel Rolle, LaRon Landry, Ryan Clark, Patrick Chung, etc.

People knock his coverage skills, but the fact is most - if not all - safeties aren't all that great in coverage. Take a look at Troy Polamalu in the Super Bowl. Godfrey has a knack for INT's and big hits, which are the two biggest skills you want in a safety.

Certainly well worth the extension we gave him. He's probably top-10 in the league among safeties in general - could be top-5 in terms of just strong safeties.

To me he looks like a cornerback. Hes built like one. He doesnt have the BDawkins, Laron Landry, Ed Reed look. Those guys are seriously built. Godfrey is thinner but quick..just my opinion though.

He's "ok". Not a pro bowler by any shot. Not the worst we could have either.

I'd rather we have a ball sharking player with ability like Polamalu tho.

How many safeties named Godfrey do we have on the team. Unfortunately the one I have been watching on Sundays doesn't look that great. Which one are you guys talking about??

He still takes bad angles, gets beat in pass coverage and is at least partially responsible for the fact that we are so poor in run defense.

When guys like Reed are not in the game their defense suffers tremendously. I rarely notice when Godfrey goes in or out.

I LOVE IT. He's the only db we have that can hit. Hard hitters will miss some tackles but he will only get better.

Godrey made three straight tackles, all basically solo, on that first Bear drive and held them to a fg. That was beast. It 1st down=bam by Godfrey then 2nd down=bam by Godfrey, 3rd down the same.

I was like damn that was beast. Godfrey caught my attention on that drive alone. He made some other plays that game also. Going to be interesting to see how he progresses.

Idk what you talking about, must be Martin or Pugh

He didnt give up anything in Ari or GB. Played a little slot CB against GB. Out for Jac and was solid in Chi. But everybody got ran over
