People are overreacting to this and half of the people don't realize the rules. First of, it would have taken a miracle for us to win the game, so the decision not to kick an onside kick wasn't necessarily a bad one. It would have been tough to recover either way. And 4 seconds is plenty of time to recover an onside kick if the circumstance is right.

I think we tried to catch them off guard. If we did somehow miraculously recover it, it would have been a shorter distance to go. So we could have gone for an onside kick and had plenty of time to get it, it just would have been a Hail Mary. Either way, it wasn't going to happen. No need to stress over this decision.

Yes it could have taken more than 4 secs, but many seem to believe the clock starts right away and there was no chance of recovery.
