HUH?!? A rule change to make the Game BETTER?

That would never work. A lot of penalties are judgement calls. It's subjective and I don't know how you'd review a penalty like that.

As much as that wasn't a PI, this would never happen.

yes it would and it shouldn't be subjective. it's either a penalty or its not. the rules make it so.

So how much contact is too much contact. I am not saying Shockey interfered Peanut but it's too subjective. And yes, it would never work with subjective type penalties.

I'd like to see it. Maybe only have it on necessary plays though, like on 1st down plays and TDs. That way, the refs can see that they screwed up.

The one problem being that people are prideful. If the referee throws the flag, then you challenge, he goes and watches the tape, sees he screwed up, but doesn't want to admit it, then you gain nothing. The only way you can do it is have a ref up in the boxes radio down to him after watching the replay to give him the decision, kind of like the NCAA does with their reviews.

Replay rules started , only when the fans aquired the ability to do their own replays. Before VCR and Tvo we had to take their word for it. "Well it did not look that way to me." They were missing so much that we could see, they had to do this. Was that play a score? Just close. Funny they have to review all scores, but a cloes one will not be reviewed unless it is ruled a score.

i agree with the people in this thread who say this, as logical as it may seem, is never going to happen because judgement calls by referees are never going to be put to scrutiny in the heat of the game. inbounds/out of bounds, catch/no catch, TD/no TD, maaaaaaaybe offsides/false start or intentional grounding in extreme cases. but PI, holding, personal fouls (i.e. the annoying, most damaging penalties) are not going to happen.
