Let us pretend the NFL was to redo the 2011 NFL Draft....

Nobody save for maybe King Taharqa knew the total package Cam would bring to the field Sundays.

selective memory there, always a big cam supporter, guess I didn't post enough around raft time. Plenty of people saw how good cam was there were just to many nay sayers, elitist analysts, forum "knowledge masters" and haters who always fell back on the "this is the nfl, not college" complaint. can't fault them just wish they weren't so blind and actually gave the kid a chance. Any player has a chance to thrive anywhere.

To answer the questions, everyone but the pats, packers, saints, charger, and lions would have given up their worldly possessions for cam.

There were a lot of people on the initial Cam Newton bandwagon. KT, Teeray and P55 were the most noticeable because they had the patience to wage the constant battles. Look back at the April threads you will see who they were. I was there (patting myself on the back). However not even KT would have imagined how awesome he would be from the jump.

It's also a huge testament to the coaching staff that they would start off letting Cam go instead of trying to turn him into a "game manager". He has energized the fan base, and is probably our first true superstar. Everyone who watches the NFL knows who Cam is by first name now.

Plus the best thing is, everyone in our division knows he is coming. I mean look at Saint J. He is hating again instead of feeling sorry for us :). I live in ATL and they are scared of f******* death of Cam Newton. The sports talk, the sports bars, the barbershops etc. In 4 games we have consensus on who is our QB of the future. Other than Aaron Rodgers he has been the best QB on the field. Other than the Saints games, and maybe 1 or 2 other games we have the best QB. And the scariest most delightful part of it all is, he is a rookie!!!!!!!!

I wanted Luck, of course, then A.J. Green, but quickly switched to Cam once I actually did some research and watched some clips.

An even better question is: say the NFL were to redo the draft AND Andrew Luck declares this time around. Knowing what you know now, who goes #1 overall?

I wanted Cam from the start just for the risk/reward factor. That's why lots DIDN'T want him. I stayed away from most draft threads for the simple fact that I didn't want to waste time arguing with some of the knuckleheads on here. None of the other players we would have taken had enough of the reward to pass on Cam. I'm not gonna say I was sure he was gonna pan out, but he obviously has.

I'm just ready to own the division.

That's a nice question. I think you have to take Cam Newton, but there will be a lot of people who would probably still take Luck.
