Let us pretend the NFL was to redo the 2011 NFL Draft....

I wanted us to draft Cam, but I didnt think he'd be this good already. I think DT is a big need for us, but thank God we didnt take Marcell. Teams would probably give up the world if they could go back and redo the draft. Nope, he's our guy. Finally got our QB

I considered cam even when luck was in the draft convo. Although, i would have went luck im glad hurney had the balls to pull the trigger. I think cam might save hurneys job. Its nice to say i told you so to the naysayers, but honestly i didn't see this coming. Get alshon next year and a force at dt and were rollin.

I honestly do not believe anyone knew prior to games on Sunday what we had in Cam Newton other than the coaches and scouting department..

the closer the draft crept up, the better I felt about drafting Cam.

Some of us did. No I didn't know he would put up 400 yards a game but I wanted to start him day 1, thought he would know the playbook much better than people thought, and knew that with his athleticism he can make plays other guys simply can't.

Frankly all the negativity from the supposed experts was the only reason I had any reservations at all. I was a big Newton fan before I even heard anything about Luck.

I would have traded back if the opportunity had presented itself (which I don't think it did) but staying put Cam was my choice. I knew he had something but even I couldn't have predicted just how good he would look. I thought it would be year 2 or 3 before we saw this. In hindsight I wouldn't have taken anything to miss out on him however.

Didn't bother me any. Those so called experts are wrong more often then there right. I think a lot of us saw something special in the kid. I'm just glad for once Hurney and Co didn't hesitate to take him.
