IMO we are not as good as many think, as well as not as bad as many think.

We are a decent football team that has some extraordinary flashes. We could be really good in a couple of years.

Things to hope for:

Cam to continue to progress at this rate.

Beason coming back to health.

Signing a big, tall, no. 1 WR (think VJ).

Drafting/Signing a run stuffing/pocket collapsing DT.

If those things happen this team could get good much sooner than I was expecting.

we are good enough that we could have won every game and almost pulled them off. it was right there for the taking and we didn't. we are as good as any team we've played this year and good enough to beat any team we play.

there's not a team that i'm afraid of this year on the schedule or off the schedule. the only team that can beat the panthers is the panthers and that is exactly what has happened.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda...not a college football fan are you? They are ripe with this mentality. One thing matters, W's and L's and currently we are 1-3. Even if every last game would have gone to OT and we lost, the fact is 1-3 is 1-3. Closeness doesn't count for much with few exceptions and football games certainly aren't one of them. If this team was as good as we all WISH they were, they would be 3-1 or 4-0, but they aren't so the record is indicative of that.

When this team gets better, so will the record.

We're just as good as Philly then. I'm ok with that, all things considered.

Whatever gets some of you guys through the night I guess.

Seriously, around here you'd think almost being 4-0 (but really 1-3) is just as good as actually being 4-0.

I guess I can't blame anyone after the past two seasons but...

a punt is not a good play.

Thank god Cam doesn't use huddle logic and isn't contempt.

Not to mention the lone win was against a horrible Jax team who was on the road in a monsoon starting a rookie QB in his first game. I'll take the win, but it was hardly quality.

So by the closeness logic, we could not only be 4-0, but 0-4. I guess wins don't garner the 'almost' logic.

Face it, we are a team in transition. Fight that FACT as some of you must, but it's going to be a long season if those expectations are kept too high. Personally, I'm looking for player improvement, team cohesion, and coaching savvy. I am under no delusions that this team will post anything close to a winning record. Improvement is all I ask.

Madden has apparently ruined some of your sensabilites. Things don't drastically change 'over night'.

Through four games in 2010, there were 16 punts returned against the Panthers.

Through four games in 2011, there have been 5 returned punts against the Panthers.

We've eliminated 11 not-good plays. Granted, we traded that for a Devin Hester touchdown, but still....

Don't think anyone is claiming the opposite. Anyone with half a head should know that this team is not BAD, nor should any of the fans (more specifically here) should accept these losses as "Good" loses. This team is not wanting/accepting pat-on-the backs, nor should we be 'happy' about losing.

And Rodeo hit the nail on the head with his post.

I'm excited as all hell for the future for this team, but as long as the team's detest for losing; outweighs its desire for "barely winning" I'm still going to expect wins each and every week.

Your opinion. Being good also means finishing drives, and learning to win. Both of which I believe will come to this team in time. We just aren't quite there yet, but light years ahead of last season.

To risk being annoying, we were a few free agent signing away from winning. A few weeks ago when I was all about signing Tommie Harris and Pat Williams, a lot of people replied to me with "We're not going to win this season anyway, might as well get our young players time instead of signing old guys to 1 year deals."

Considering the types of losses the team has had, it turns out those old guys very well could have be the difference between 1-3 and 4-0.

Wonder if it's possible even the FO didn't think we'd be this good, this early, especially Cam obviously.

Let's beat the Aints Sunday and put BofA on full alert.

Two more defensive tackles wouldn't improveb our special teams.

We seem to be putting up enough points to win, so i don't see how another big receiver (which we won't get this year,. And we'll have in gettis next year) will help that much more.

We need more consistent play on defense, and the special teams not to be special ed.
