Panthers second worst in the league for penalties

Formation penalties happen a lot in an offense that does a lot of pre-snap shifting, especially when the team is just learning it.

I'm still trying to figure out that last one though. They were saying that Wharton failed to report, but why would a starting O-linemen need to report anything? Was he lined up as an eligible receiver, because it looked like he just moved over to LT to me.

The way the formation was set up, he would have been eligible. They require guys to report that because failing to do so could mistakenly result in an "ineligible downfield" call and because some teams use "tackle eligible" trick plays.

Granted, it's a weird rule, but it happens. Back in high school we had a certain lineup where one of the outside guys was actually required to tell the ref he was an ineligible receiver. Thankfully, the athletic commission changed the rules the following season so we didn't have to do that anymore.

I remember Gruden did it a lot when he was with TB, but I NEVER remember them getting this many procedural penalties... I honestly wonder if the easy-going feel of camp carried over into the season.

It has to come from the coaches.

People are reporting that Rivera is pissed and he should be.

I would be pissed too. If your losing games by small margins and that margin is simple things like tackling well and not making mental mistakes then that has to be fixed. To me the offense is putting up 20+ points a game so that's enough to win games in the NFL. So one has to look to the other side of the ball for the problem. Thats Rivera's area...

I guess that makes sense but it's still weird because he was lined up in an obvious pass blocking stance.

Honestly, I don't understand why they needed to get cute and run the wildcat then anyway. It's not like they failed to move the ball all day and needed a gimmick to give them a spark, the regular offense was looking pretty darn good.

Stop your fuging trolling, Luck is nothing guaranteed and Newton is. If you aren't gonna support our QB I suggest you find another fuging team, or support whatever fuging team Luck lands on.

You go fug yourself.

Not trolling just cause YOU say it is. I guess if Smith can handle playing on a loosing team, Newton can.

The racism usually doesn't start until week 6 but good job getting an early start.

Yep, and looky there who started the racism. Like an blank check excuse for anything. Makes me ashamed to be from GSO. Plumb embarrassing. Check my post. I have never said bad of Cam. He will be a great QB.

I complain about the Panther losses, like everyone else on this board from time to time. I figure the $2000 a year I spend on games gives me a right. No? How much you spend on tickets jtgreensboro?
