I have to wonder why the Panthers refuse to utilize their running game more

It's not like the passing game isn't working either though. If we were throwing and not completing passes it would be different. our real problem is we have no body who can go up and make a big catch in the redzone. Smith is not good in the redzone b/c he is so short. He spreads the field out, but we need a tall elite WR like nicks, calvin johnson, etc to finish off drives.

Happy for the Lions

But a little jealous on that Calvin Johnson TD that was sooo damn easy

You can't put this on the offense plain and simple. They moved the ball all day and racked up 500 yards of offense. This loss is squarely on special teams and run defense which is exactly what many of said would be the deciding factor. We did very little right outside of offense.

I personally liked how we moved the ball down the field. My frustration would be always trying to hit the long ball and seam route and not use more crossing routes and screens. When we used them for the most part they were effective. I liked how we got Williams on the edges where he is more effective.

Sure we could have tried running in the redzone more but I am with the crowd that says don't throw it to Nannee and expect him to fight for the ball in the redzone.

There are reasons we lost this game but the running game wasn't one of them.

Because they are obsessed with Cam "learning on the job...from his mistakes" instead of winning, right now. Not that they want to lose, but they're clearly still trying to "teach Cam", as if he hasn't already proven that he can play the position.

They need to start making the right call, and forget about the "what's better for [insert name]" call.

So from that, I gather that you think we didn't try and win the game but just threw the ball to teach Newton how to play against a cover 2. That we want to inflate stats but that we are not doing what we apparently do best which is run the ball.

Is that your position??

When your stud RB is averaging 10 yards per run and it's still early in the second half and only down by 4 is not a time to abandon the run. But good try.

And that reminds me, the way the coaching staff handled that last two minute offense in the 2nd qtr, abysmal!:(
