If this is a John Kasay vs Olindo Mare thread, Kasay will always win just because of nostalgia. I remember him missing a good number of potential game winning kicks in his day. As for Mare, 52 yards is a pretty long field goal...that's not usually considered "automatic".

1. Kicking into the wind... or didn't you notice him kicking it throuh the endzone going the other way?

2. The penalty made it a 52 yarder... oh, that was his fault too... sorry

3. And while you continue to knob on Kasay, remember your knee pads because he's kicking in a dome now.

Who made this a Mare vs. Kasay thread? And actually, if people were able to interpret internet, you would see the title to this thread was different from the one posted above my first post. Why?

Because someone else made the "kicker market" thread, while I made one titled "Olindo Mare" with the first post as is.

Furthermore, if you can read, comprehend, and interpret the English language, you would see where I stood on Kasay.

But, being that you guys brought it up... We were in a dome when Rivera didn't allow Mare to kick FGs that should be within his range as well.

He didn't need a f**king dome to kick a 55 yarder for us last year

I don't mind a kicker missing a 50 plus year field goal, but I do mind them missing it short. We passed on kicking a 50ish yard field goal earlier in the year and now I know why. Unacceptable for a pro kicker.

I said this in my thread last week

Kasay's longest FG made is from 56 yards. He made a 55 yarder last season and made a 53 yarder this season.

Mare's longest FG made is from 54 yards. Within the last 4 years, his longest is 51.

Mare also hasn't made a FG longer than 52 yards since 2005 (which was only 53 yards). If you look at Kasay's longest made field goals and compare them to Mare's season for season, Kasay owns.

Exactly. There wasnt much wind or anything else to affect that kick. If Mare can't kick it there from 52 yards he needs to find something else to do. We will just have to get used to punting from the opponents 35 I suppose.

Well we deserve a better than average kicker.. we deserve a kicker that can actually do it all and not just a kickoff specialist. I mean mare has bounced around the league before coming here.. that should tell you something.

LOL

Kasay has been on three teams, David Ackers has been on like five, Morten Andersen was on many, etc.
